I saw those pics. There is iPhone video from the same plane I believe, possibly the same person. What a treat that must have been. Amazing!

Fake. Just like the moon landings. Donald Trump is looking into it.

Cool pics. Wish they were more close up.

Very cool, thanks for posting. I watched the liftoff on the NASA channel, that was awesome! They provide the feed from about seven different camera locations, so you really get a feel for how it looks. Then the camera feed from the fuel tank as the solid fuel boosters separate. Then a great shot as the liquid fuel tank drops away right after main motor shutoff. Lots of great information with computer graphics when TV feed drops out.
This morning was the docking maneuver and the two crews meeting. Then the payload arm bringing out the first piece of cargo to be installed. The space station crew had to deal with a 30m cable that stopped working (they had to piece together three cables to replace the bad one).
Very interesting, to say the least.
    Cheers, Ken

Now if they had only listened to the salesman at Best Buy trying to up sell them the Monster cable this would not be necessary!

Funny, I was thinking along similar lines as I watched it happen. I could see one of the ISS crew floating to where they must keep all the spare cables and trying to find one that would fit. The Houston ground control officer was asking for a description of what the cable was so they could help tell them where to look for it. I think it was a cable that fed one of the outside cameras so they could watch the shuttle arm lift out the cargo. Before Houston could search the data the ISS guys had made the patch. Just like us having to troubleshoot a bum cable.

Now if only we could get one of the shuttle personnel to chime in with their thoughts on which speaker cable works the best in zero gravity...........

I could tell you since I picked quite a few parts for them, but I'll keep it a secret =P.

Btw, the cost of these cables and associated connectors is much higher than even MSRP of the Monster cable, lol. And trust me, the quality and workmanship of those zero-g connectors used "outside" is simply out-of-this-world, no pun intended.

Great another cable debate. BTW I still think paper clips soldered end to end with acid core solder wrapped in ductape sounds best and it's cheap.

I work in a research lab for the U.S. Navy. We're working on things many years in the future and cable costs are unbelievable. Some of the looms have fiber optics, copper, gold, platinum and silver. Some of the connectors alone are in excess of 50K a piece.

I haven't figured out how to incorporate some of these pieces into my rig just yet:biggrin: Just kidding for all you concerned taxpayers! These things are very highly controlled and inventoried like the gold at Fort Knox.
