Ok, I made a thread earlier with my fronts and you guys helped me with that.
I just spent 4 hours cleaning my room and wiring the surrounds and i'm getting no audio out of them. First I tried fios cable, then I threw in a blue ray dvd (ps3) and still nothing.
What could be the problem? I pretty positive that all the speaker wires are wired correctly.
ANY help is greatly appreciated.

You have to configure both your PS3 and your receiver. What does your signal flow look like? (ie. PS3 to Receiver via HDMI to TV to etc....)
-
ps3 to receiver via hdmi and hdmi to tv. I have the ps3 audio settings on HDMI. Even for fios the surrounds wont come on...
-
Are you sure that your source is outputting more than stereo audio? Does the receiver indicate that it's receiving a multi-channel signal, such as Dolby Digital or DTS? Did you enable the surrounds in your setup menu?
What model receiver do you have? -
Yea, i enabled the surrounds in the setup. I have the Onkyo TX-SR608.

Make sure you enable it at your source (PS3).
You could try selecting the optical output from the PS3 and seeing if the receiver recognizes it as mult-channel surround. -
I tried optical in the ps3 settings last night and i got no sound at all. Maybe because its hooked hdmi??? I dont know
@mdaudio guy. In the receiver settings, where you can set the decibels for each individually receiver, the surrounds make a static when i go to surround L and Surround R. So its definitely hooked right, I'm just getting no sound from them... -
I meant to say "set each individual speaker" not receiver.

Can anyone figure it out? Tried everything and still nothing.

I'm almost certain it's the settings on your receiver.
Your PS3 outputs both HDMI and Optical Audio simultaneously. All you're doing when selecting "Optical Output" on your PS3 is telling it not to use the HDMI audio output...it won't touch the video output (that's IF you decided to go this route).
It's obviously wired correctly since your getting the test-tone to play through the correct speakers. -
UPDATE. I got the surrounds to work for PS3. I went into the ps3 audio hdmi settings then went to manual instead of auto and checked the DD 5.1 and DTS 5.1 boxes. Also, theres a bunch of other boxes that say Linear PCM 2CH, 5.1 CH, and 7.1 CH. Do i check any of those boxes???
Do i turn the audio mulit output to on or off?
Then in the Video setting theres a setting called "BD Audio Output Format (optical digital)" and theres 3 settings. Bitstream (MIX) Bitstream (Direct) and Linear (PCM). I have mine on Bistream direct. Does this setting even matter since I'm hooked up HDMI and this says "optical digital".
As for fios, the surrounds still have no audio. I went into the fios cable box settings and its set on "surround" so im good there. Any idea what the problem is? -
I got the surround L and R to work for cable.
I just did the Audyssey 2EQ mic setup and heres what it gave me...
Fronts: Full band (I have no SUB)
Center: 40Hz
Surrounds: 50Hz.
It sounds a little low so I set it back to what i originally had it at which was
Center 70Hz
Surrounds 80 (THX)
My room is 15x12 and the volume is pretty damn loud at -15 db. Is that normal?
