Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road SHM-SACD

Does anyone have the Japanese SHM-SACD version of Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road? I've got the 2003 SACD version of it but have never been happy with it. Am wondering if the SHM-SACD is an improvement. There is one comment on the SA-CD.net website claiming it is better - just looking for corroboration from you folks.

I never got around to gtting the SACD version. But I do have the DVD-A copy. Does the SACD copy have the extra tracks? For example, the acoustic version of Candle in the wind.

Yes, the 2003 SACD has 4 bonus tracks including the acoustic mix of Candle in the Wind.Parasound P5 Pre

What specifically don't you like about the 2003 SACD release? I ask because this is one of my favorite SACD's as far as sound quality. I did a sound quality comparison between the CD, LP and SACD of this album here.
There appears to be two versions of the 2003 "30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition" SACD. The catalog number listed on Amazon.com is B0000E64TR. However, mine has a catalog number of B0001570-36. If you Google both catalog numbers, each number leads to this album title.
I should also mention that I have only listened to the 2-channel SACD mix and not the 5-channel surround sound SACD mix on this disc.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -

I've got the B0001570-36 version of the 2003 SACD. I've tried listening to it several times and I just get fatigued. I think the reviewer on the SA-CD.net site described it as grainy. I would say the same. It's the 2-channel mix I am listening to. I think I'll take a chance on the Japanese SHM-SACD. I've purchased 4 others of this kind and have been impressed.Parasound P5 Pre

Just got the SHM-SACD and in my opinion is much better than the 2003 SACD version. The fatiguing qualities I found in the latter are tamed in the SHM version.
There seems to be two camps on the 2003 version - love it or hate it with no in between. Is there such a thing as a "bad batch" being produced and distributed that would exlpain the difference (not knowing anything on how CDs are produced)?
At any rate, I am relieved and happy with the SHM version.Parasound P5 Pre
