5.1 with separate multi-channel amp?

Is it better to have more power going to the L&R fronts and less power going to the center and rear surrounds? or just power them all the same? I just do not hear enough out of the surrounds to power (spend $) them the same. Looking at a W4s amp for LSI 7s & C front stage and LCI60 in wall rear surrounds.

All speakers benefit from more power, and since you are running an all LSI system, they would benefit greatly with a 5 channels amplified.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

How much power does the LCI60 need, exactly then?
It's a 91db efficient speaker how much power would be sufficient?
In fact, many upper-echelon HT amps designate LESS power to the surrounds.design is where science and art break even. -
absolutely not.

It's about current my man. My speakers are 95db efficient, but without some juice they would sound flat. Heck, even Klipsch at 102 db efficient, people run amps on them. What a speaker needs to get by and what it wants can be 2 different things. Sure isn't going to hurt them none to throw an amp into the mix.HT SYSTEM-

Footwedge, as you mentioned, there isn't a ton of information that goes through the surrounds. Also, center channels are subject to all the dynamics and carry much of the heavy lifting of the HT signal and often as demanding or even more demanding of the amplification section as/than the front L & R channels.design is where science and art break even.

I agree and I'm well aware of the current issue. we're talking about the surround channels here. He's asking if he can dedicate less power to the rears or if they are equally demanding as the front. The answers are yes he can because no theyre not.design is where science and art break even. -
True....at least amp the front 3 speakers and let the receiver do the surrounds. The center handles a good portion of movie soundtracks.
Still, if the opportunity came up for a 5 channel amp, I wouldn't look the other way either.HT SYSTEM-

I'm looking at a W4s multichannel amp (3x250, 2x125 8 ohms, 3x550 , 2x220 4 ohms). Thinking this will be a little less expensive than a 5x250 if it will be ok.
Also looking at the rotels, but since there are no dealers within 500 miles, I'm leaning towards having the W4s delivered to my door. -
Wyred 4 Sound over the rotels every day of the week.
The staggered wattage amp will be perfect (the 3x250,2x125)
W4S is an order of magnitude better than rotel offeringsdesign is where science and art break even.
