Juan, it looks like you're just going to miss the Munich High End Audio Show :frown: which is going on right about now, I think.

If I could pull off AMSTERDAM, I would! I just wont have enough time. I will be spending Friday Night (June 10th) at the Frankfort Airport hotel. If anyone knows about good party action in Frankfort, let me know.

I plan on hopefully running into an Audio Store, but I know that when I land on Sunday June 5th all the stores will be closed :(. which will leave me Mon-Thurs evenings and hopefully something near the Crowne Plaza in Heidelberg. I will also ask my fellow Engineers at our sister plant to see if they can guide me in the right direction.

David Hasselhof is more popular in Germany than he ever was in USA! go figure...

What do you know about Carnitas megasat16 :) Actually the best carnitas are made from recipes from Michoacan Mexico, I know, i'm from there :) Anybody in Chicago should stop by Don Alfredos on 18th and Halsted and get a taste of pretty good carnitas!

I will look for those Telefunken 5965 tubes, but you know that Euro conversion is going to hurt! Whats a good price to pay? I'm not sure what the going rate is.
or if anyone wants me to check on something for them just let me know! I will do my best to see if I can locate it...and if it fits in my suitcase, I'll try and bring it back for you.

Perhaps you could convince your work superiors to send you there 3 weeks early; make something up: "I've come across our financials from the Munich Division, and I think we can increase our market niche if I personally visit and .... ". Heck, it's for a good cause, so make something up.

Germany is beautiful with an excellent railway system, so if you can possibly squeeze an extra day or so in, and can AFFORD IT, do so. And take pics. It doesn't happen unless we have pics.
Working hard to spend your money.

Drive the Nurburgring! I believe it is still open to the public (for a fee) as long as there aren't any races going on. Supposed to be the best drive in the world.

Then they will know you're an American! Its amazing, over there roads can go from the super-wide Autobahns to narrow country "paths". In the smaller burgs, the roads can be very narrow and like right next to a building. You'll see it all. And NO roads are straight.

And THAT is another thing most people don't know. For all the alcohol they drink, there is ZERO tolerance for DUI's. So if you go out partying, make someone else drive. Just kidding. Definitely have a DD. Or get a taxi, they are plentiful.

    ditto on the Autobahn..

But, when ordering anything, if using fingers, start with the thumb and work your way out or you will get one more than you wanted. They start with their thumb while we start with our middle finger, I mean pointer.

"or you will get one more than you wanted".

Might not be a bad deal getting two when ordering some BEER! :)

Luckily, I will not be doing much driving out there (no DUI!!) as we probably will get a "chaparone" from our sister plant. All those cats are pretty cool and I am sure we will be taken care of completely. We do the same for them when they come to Chicago, so it's all good!

I need to score on some Audio gear, hopefully I will have the opportunity to run into a store somewhere, i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I visited my brother in law in Germany in 99. He had an Opel sedan and all the time we were on the Auto B we drove in the far right lane at 115mph. My nephew had a Honda and he pulled up beside us and he and his father had a conversation and when they finished the little Honda pulled away from us like we weren't even moving. The only accident I saw the 2 weeks I was there was a very slight fender bender at a red light. They know how to drive.

I live in SoCAL so Carnitas, Chichiron, Salsa and Tortilla are almost everywhere.

I am not Mexican but got plenty of Mexican and Latino friends here.

If you know the best Carnitas receipe, do share so we can give a try at home. We cooked the carnitas recipes found on youtube before and they are very good too.
