SDA 2 Interconnect Cable Need to Make One

  • I have a couple stupid questions about this interconnect cable. I have a set of SDA - 1As which use the Jones type blade/blade sockets. I have the correct plugs.

    1) Are the cables standard (big blade to big blade) or null (big blade to small blade)?

I use the 1 speaker on the A set and one speaker on the B set (yes the ground pane between them is common). I run only a single with my TV so I can get a little better bass response and not blast my neighbors out watching a while movie and both A and B for music.

    2) Am I going to do harm to the speakers if the interconnect cable is in place while using only one speaker?

    Thanks!

No, but understand the cable will be still sending signal to the dimensional woofer and tweeter. I'm not quite sure why you are running off of different A & B channels for each speaker. It seems you would be better to run a dedicated center channel.
  • Takers on the second question?
  • Thanks. Yes it would be ideal to run them both on one channel, but I think my neighbors would be pissed about my tv noise at night if I didn’t kill one of the speakers. Sportsball and movies need no high-fi. Might integrate a switch for the interconnect to mitigate the second unit entirely.

Just unplug the cable. You're making this more complicated than it needs to be.
  • Thanks for swiftly answering my questions, however odd the setup seems. I think it is safe to assume that most folks on this forum have quite a bit more space in their residences than I do, but I will not give up the space these speakers consume. I like my music clear and full. Best regards.
