thieving **** rednecks who left their pics

Yes you read right, my mom had to move from her mountain home here in blue ridge to atlanta, to live with my sister and be taken care of.

After a year, her home and 9 acres for 145,000 dollars, about half what it would have sold for in 06 when we began to beg her to move, has not sold.

However, the mowing of the acres of grass on this former horse farm goes on.

Thankfully, 3 years ago, i bought her a 2000 dollar cub cadet riding mower, and along with my big walk behind from my old landscaping business allowed me to handle it, even with my bad back.

That is, until i had to abandon both mowers in her little shed last week amidst a storm that was toppling bradford pears as i rode past trying to get out of the way and back in the truck.

Well i went back yesterday to finish the mowing, only to find both mowers gone, it was shocking to the point that for a few minutes i wandered around the property trying to think where and why i left the mowers somewhere different.

The most interesting point is, as i walked away form the shed, ther in the grass was a photograph of what appeared to be a redneck family gathering at a public building showing two men a lady and two small children.

I was stunned.

This obviously fell out of the truck as they were getting in and out.

i will be including a scan of the pic soon, after i get it into our computer, make flyers and prepare to go around town to bulletin boards and the court house asking "If you can id any of these people contact deputy long of fannin sheriffs dept."

the responding dept. who took the report.

If anyone has been through something like this, please give me any advice that may have helped you.

So far we have alerted pawn shops, mower repair shops that also sells a few on the side.

Drove around the neighborhood, staring araound peoples property.

Got mad as hell and even before the deputys could get there had already ran out of anger and had my blood sugar dip until i just felt like laying down and taking a nap.

Any thought or suggestions , real or comical, would be appreciated, could use a laugh as well as help.

By the way, my folks are from these mountains, grew up dirt poor and moved to atlanta and eked out a lower middle class life for us, i have the right to call anybody a redneck, like black folks are able to refer as "N" words, so dont be insulted, those of weak hearts.

By the way, as has always happened when faced with a small criminal insult to me or someone close to me, and lets be honest, while infuriating and greatly inconveniencing me, this is not the crime of the century.

But i always end up feeling great empathy for those victims of violent or very costly crimes, especially those victimized in their homes, and cannot afford to get away in order to feel safer, my heart always hurts for those people after experiencing some small crime like this.

Sorry to hear that. It's getting bad. I work for the local Sheriff's Department. And we are seeing a severe increase in theft of mowers, weed eaters, out side air-conditioning units, ATV's, scrap metal, copper pipes....even the damn aluminum street signs are turning up missing!

    What's an "**** redneck"?

On a more serious note...if the storm was as bad as you mentioned, the picture could simply have been blown onto the property from anywhere. It didn't "obviously fall out of the truck". It might be more likely that it came from the vehicle though.

Also...I'm not sure what makes the people in that picture "rednecks"? The picture looks like it was taken in the 80's, and the style of clothing/hair fits with how everyone else in the US looked around that time.

Hope you find your mowers though, that's a ****.

P.S. The guy heading out the door looks a LOT like my sister's dad...

It would be incredible if we idd these guys, drove up with the sheriffs, and sat there watching them mowing their grass with my mowers.

By the way, always register your power equip. and for that matter, any valuable purchases, and keep your ser. no.s handy, it can mean the difference in getting your stuff back or having to stand there and watch them grin and walk away with your stuff because you cant prove that particular one is yours.

ryan its thieving **** rednecks, but anyone who wants to see an **** redneck or possibly the relatives or friends of an **** redneck, refer to picture above.

also, although it was a bad quickly forming storm, this pic was not water damaged or discolored.

The mowers were seen day before yesterday by neighbors who check on mamas place on their way home, so it was stolen between 4pm on sundat and app 430 pm monday.

finally, my moms storage building is a good hundred yards from dirt road and two hundred yards from closest neighbors house. and sided on 2 sides with long stretches of woods, technically possible it could have blown there, much more likely fell out during theft.

Im starting to feel like pee wee herman in his basement obsessing over every single detail of the theft of his bike.

What does this all mean I DONT KNOW!

Scott, if you have the mower's serial/VIN #'s. That is what they will enter into GCIC as stolen articles. That way if an officer finds them, pawn shop owner runs them etc. They will be flagged as stolen. When they are entered into GCIC, that stolen article record hits NCIC databases as well.

You may already have been told this though.

Ah, dang. That kid's a Cub Scout. That's a "Space Derby" ship he's winding and the guy in the background has one too. Looks like it's a school gymnasium.

    That's disappointing.

Sorry I can't offer much help. Maybe the Cub Scout thing is clue for you guys to start lookin'. Sucks about the mowers, I'm hoping for the best for you.

Not really. I would ask them if they have been entered into GCIC though! They probably won't provide you the proof. But I'd still ask.

I think he meant it as "thieving-****" redneck, not thieving "****-redneck"

There is no way to know the time frame of the picture based on the clothing or objects. This is North Georgia...where fashion is "timeless"...

You would be amazed at the number of people searching the countryside nowdays looking for scrap metal and cars. At $12+ per 100# for scrap steel, they are snatching anything that will haul.

Abandoned homesites and old barns are a favorite fishin hole. The braver ones are getting a/c coils, copper wire and pipe and even snatching aluminum awnings off peoples houses.

The picture of the people with the bathroom door that has no universal symbols IMO dates it to an earlier decade. Unless that part of GA hasn't caught up yet:wink:

It's debatable as to whether they should be classified as "Rednecks" or "Hoosiers".

The dood in the pink knit shirt leans more towards "Redneck".
The rest of the crew, however, are definitely of the "Hoosier" genre. IMO.

**** rednecks, and assless chaps, i think both would apply.

Yeah, we do have insurance, will speak to my sister about looking up the paperwork and particulars.

My first thought is the cub cadet might be listed at 7to 800 bucks, even though it was a 2000 dollar mower with less than a hundred hours on it.

After deductible probably wouldnt get much, and the stress that would add to my very ill mothers life is not worth it.

The cops said thievery around these parts has exploded , probably like most places.

Thanks for the condolences, its really not as much about the monetary aspect, it really is a strange feeling getting ripped right off like this, and now having to deal with getting that place mowed the rest of the summer, unless someone buys it, anybody.
