Sharpness, sound, depth, crispness, openness and density are apparently ridiculous terms according to him. That leads me to believe he's never heard it before. I'd bet you are right.

My cat thrashed the negative side of my Planar V speaker cables. I just sent it in for repair yesterday. These cables are in an open mesh, and are copper ribbons, so it is easy to break. Especially if one gets a claw caught in the mesh.

I guess that is what I get for catching a feral kitten, and trying to domesticate it.

I now have barricades keeping the cats from getting behind the rack, the cables are elevated off the floor, and I put up a barricade behind the speakers to make it difficult for them to get at the cables.

For the time being, head down to the supermarket and pick up a roll of aluminum foil.

Seriously though, I made something similar a few years back. I unrolled a couple of Goertz silver and copper inductors and made a few pairs of cables like those. They didn't sound bad, but weren't for me.

Good idea. Fortunately, I still have my first set of Planar 'I' so I was able to use one replace the negative side. The biggest difference between the 'I' an 'V' is that the 'I' does not have a DC bias applied to the mesh. I fixed that by finding a nail which fit into the battery box, and used a clip jumper between the nail and the mesh. Seems to work okay as a temp fix.

Cookie shakes her head in disgust and wonders why some humans worry so much about other human's play toys.
    From the video:
"I guarantee it, if you pay $1,000 for one of these cables, you're gonna hear a difference."

    Guarantee?

I wonder if any expensive cable dealers have a return policy and if people have ever returned cables because they didn't hear a difference or improvement.

I wonder why The Cable Company offers a cable loan program if everything is rosy and delightful in the land of expensive cables and nobody ever returns anything.

Nah, I don't need to participate in any rigged and vulgar pseudo-scientific exhibitions to finance my audiophile obsession. if I wanted a new rig I would just go buy one...similar to what I did here :

That also leads me to believe that he's not familiar with the imaging and sound stage terminology used by the Bell Laboratories researchers who invented home stereo systems.

No, but my SVS PB 12 Ultra/2 subwoofer seems to be "possessed".
    001devilfacesubfar-s.jpg
Do you see the demonic/dragon-like "face" in the center of the sub's front end?

    002devilfacesub-clo-lt-s.jpg
Come closer. Do you see the face surrounded by red flames? Three horns, eyebrows, narrow-slit eyes,
pointed ears, long snout with elongated nostrils and that small mouth formed into a"devilish" smirk?

    003devilfacesub-clo-dk-s.jpg
Is it easier to see with the image darkened a bit?

    004devilfacesub-clo-ang-s.jpg
I first noticed this "face" looking back at me when I was sitting on the couch watching a movie.

I probably should sell this sub for between $75,000 to $100,000. I understand there are people on eBay willing to pay big bucks for such supernatural manifestations.

Demonic manifestations only nets you 2-3X the original price. Saint impersonations gets you 5X. Jesus is 10X and Mary lookalike is 20X. You could get the prices you list if you have a combo of any of the above with any cartoon character, especially from the Marvel realm.

Those price multiples you quoted are for religiously oriented civilians. I think a wealthy, religiously oriented audiophile, particularly one who worships on the darker side of the spectrum, would consider the price range I quoted a "deal" just for the demon face alone. This is particularly true if an expert can match the image to a well-known and high-ranking individual from the spirit realm.
