Popping sound and static cant use 3000

Hi
Purchased this Surround bar 3000 speaker system approx 6 months ago. After some difficulties with another brand. Now I am not able to use the speaker system. I have a Samsung plasma 50" and I have the speaker connected by digital optical, of course the sub woofer wireless. I have changed the channel id from 1 -2- 3 -4 on both and unplugged and reset both but still static and popping. I have contacted Customer service a few days ago but no reply.
I dont have the original box and I'm sure that the receipt is no longer findable.
I had hoped that by purchasing a better brand and more expensive I would get some help but Its a bit disappointing. Any help appreciated. Please

    Same problem with both brands? Dirty pot on AVR? excessive heat above fireplace? need more details!

    Surround speaker sits on wooden mantle , no fireplace, going to give polk audio a phone call today. Thanks for your reply.

    good luck... didn't notice you were connected digital (no dirty pot issue there), although, if you got the same behavior from the other brand, I would suspect something upstream of the SB. Was it the same behavior?

    Just spoke to Customer service and got a quick response, possibly the amp so I will take it in to get it replaced.
