Advice about speaker that's broken (Do not know what's wrong)

Hi there,

I (quite foolishly) allowed my roommates at school to borrow my combo Bass Amplifier/Speaker, and the aftermath is a distinct lack of bass coming out of the speaker. If I turn up the EQ to only low frequencies and turn off all high frequencies, I can get some semblances of low mid-range sound, but still nothing near the strong thump it used to produce even at flat-EQ. I was just wondering if anybody would have an idea as to what might have happened in case I decide to take it to an electronics repair store. The combo is a Hartke VX2515 (http://www.keyboard-reviews.com/reviews/6/HTKVX2515/Hartke-VX2515-Bass-Combo-Amplifier-with-HF-Driver-(250-Watts,-1x15-in.).html)
I wish I could give more information, but am wholly unexperienced in this field.

Thanks for any help,

Nick

Just based upon the limited information you gave, I believe they blew the speaker for ya'.

Take the grill off and gently push the woofer in [at the cone area] and release. Do you feel any mechanical resistance or grinding when you do this?
