I prefer the SDA effect to SH, but both are pretty great. To answer a question from above, I feel the DSP method of SH is superior to the analog method. I felt clarity suffered in the latter when it was engaged, but i guess there couldve been something else at fault. But the DSP method is very nice, and unlike SDA can be turned off and on with a tap of my Sunfire Theater Grand remote :)

Why would one want to "turn it off"? I have never had the cable on my SDA's unplugged.

Not being arguementative at all, just curious because to me, that seems like a weakness if you have to turn it off.

I can think of one series of recordings out of thousands I've listened to where the SDA's sound really unnatural and I end up using passive mode on my pre-amp.

some Beatles stereo recordings can sound pretty 'disconnected' at times on SDA's. It's more the recording process than the SDA's.

Great replies from everyone, thanks! I haven't tried the SH yet and not sure I will but thought I'd ask about both.

I have very little experience with either and the learning part is actually fun, even if the result is more or less than what one would expect.
