Demiurge, I just got three Wilco albums in and have listened to two so far, and I like them alot. I haven't gotten YHFT in yet, but so far I've listened to 'being there' and ' A.M.' I am going to be listening to 'Summerteeth' after A.M. is over. It's certainly different from what's out. They play music like I would enjoy playing. I've played guitar for nine years and I play alot of acoustic stuff that fits their style.
Sorry I didn't reply earlier, but I don't have AOL messenger, but I do have MSN messenger. My name is the same as it is here. That would definately be cool to check out some of the stuff you have on your comp. I remember the days when Napster was alive and kicking. My roommate and I at LSU our sophomore year had 7000 mp3's. I found so much new stuff by browsing peoples files after I had already downloaded some other stuff from them. My best friend got into Morphine that way. I am slowly acquiring a taste for them. When he first started listening to them I couldn't stand them but now I think they're pretty cool. Too bad the singer/bassist died--on stage at that. But that's got to be the best way to go for a musician--on stage while performing for the people who love you. If you have MSN, check me out, though I'm only on usually between 8-10 pm. I just started working twelve hour shifts so I now have no time for anything else, but it will get me to Chicago sooner."I got into the music business thinking it was really radical, that it wasn't really a business at all, that it was a lot of people being artistic and creative. Not true, and it made me very depressed."

I've got Uncle Tupelo March 16-20, 1992, live CD. I had it listed on a "for sale" thread months ago. If anyone wants it... $5 plus $2 shipping. It is, literally, like new, except that it has "burdette" written in Sharpie across the top of the disk. Don't remember why that is... must've been a reason at some point. Anyway, this thing has been out of the case ONCE.. well, twice.. just now when I took it out to look at it to see that it looks like brand new. I've had it in one player one time.

Scroll down.. it is the middle disk under the Uncle Tupelo heading.
Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy were the minds behind Uncle Tupelo. Tweedy went on to form Wilco; Farrar went to Son Volt. -

Wilco is from Chicago too. You'll love the amount of bands you can see there. It's great.
Check out the "I'm Trying To Break Your Heart" Wilco movie if you decide you like them that much.
