SDA-1C Studios - $200 or comparable trade

For your consideration is 1 pair of all original SDA-1C studios. I've never cracked these open.

I bought these demo pair from the Helenikon AB Exchange when it was closing in 1990.

They probably less than 200 hours play time on them (as if that's actually relevant) - low mileage :).

but when I bought them they came w/out boxes - and they moved from greece to california - maryland - and several local moves in between.

The drivers survived several cats of the years - but the grill cloths do have their share of snags.

I'm asking $200 for them (as I'd rate them about a 6 out 10 cosmetically).

I'd consider a trade of anything of comparable value such as; Harman Kardon AVR 354, a tube power amp (ST-70), a tube preamp (PAS-3), or anything else that might take up less space.

I already have a wife and 5 cats - so don't even try trading either of those.

    Wayne has sent me a Pm and he has already agreed that he is going to deliver them to me at my house in Pasadena Md :smile: i have wanted 1C's for a long time as they are Tube Friendly and with a little work they can sound stellar :biggrin:

    Wayne delivered these 1C's yesterday evening.i have been breaking in a pair of Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Baby Grands but this morning i decided to give the 1C's a spin in my rig.i run a Niteshade audio NS-40 tube amp with a optional separate DC filament power supply and Winged C 6L6GC power tubes and Black Treasure CV181-Z input and driver tubes.with the 6L6GC in the amp it makes around 50 to 55 wpc.i run a Purity Audio Design Basis Plus + linestage using Black Treasure CV181-Z signal tubes and Clarity Caps bypassed with V-cap TFTF in the signal path.my source is a 50 lb Canary Audio CD200 used as a transport and running a Eastern Electric Mini Max DAC modded with National Semiconductor LME 49990 op amps and running a Amperex Holland PQ 7316 in it.i put on Roger Waters Amused to Death and i could not believe how good these stock SDA's sound . Wayne is a very nice guy and i am still shaking my head at the fact that i got a decent pair of 1C's for for $200. thanks Wayne....WCW III
