I have a PSW505 sub which I quite like. However it was bottoming out when I watched the new Tron Blu Ray.

I know the 505 has it's limitations, but is there anyway to tweak it to perform better for bass heavy movies?

Tks.

Maybe first let us know how you have the sub setup and/or what crossover point your using. Do you just have one cable from sub out on the receiver going to the sub ? Are your front speakers set to large or small ?
How big is the room ? Did you play around with placing the sub in different positions ? A tad more info my friend would help your responses.

    Thanks Tonyb.

It is set at 80 hz for cross-over. Just one cable from sub to receiver. Speakers are set up using Audeyssy EQ. Room is 12 by 24. I haven't moved it as it seems fine for other movies.

I did read that Tron goes pretty deep for bass. The 505 seems to bottom out.

    Tks.

Turn down the volume on the back of the sub, don't let it keep bottoming out or you'll be shopping for a new one quicker than you think. Everything has it's limits bro.

It does have a Low Pass Filter setting on the back (between 60 and 120hz). What should that be set at?

I guess I will probably just have to turn it down. Although if it does break, it will be fun to upgrade.
