I presently have the RMB-1095 (5 channel amp) powering my system & it performs flawlessly w/ plenty of good clean power for my LSi set up. No complaints what so ever. But I just came across a great deal on it's matching big brother the RMB-1090 amp. My thoughts would be to pick up it up for my LSi 15's & then I could bi-amp the center with the unused channels on the RMB-1095.

In a way I think it's over kill & if I would really benefit from the whole scenerio. I know you can never have enough power but I must confess the RMB-1095 really does a great job & wonder if it would be a worth while move.

I currently have a rmb-1090 & had a 1095 up until last year. While more power is better I think you will not see your money in improvements with your system.

I'd say your next big purchase should be room treatments, followed by speakers, I doubt that amp combo would yield any improvement over how it is currently. You aren't likely drawing much more than 50 watts to play at very loud volumes, and while extra dynamic headroom is nice, it's still basically the same amplifier. The rest of your system looks pretty good. If you can't use room treatments or already have them, maybe shop around for a set of speakers for 2 channel. $1000-1500 can buy you quite a lot of performance used, the Usher BE-718's and Paradigm S2 v2's I've had were in that range, and you can keep the Polks as your home theater setup
    Current System:
    Paradigm Signature S2 v2
    Conrad Johnson MF2500
    Wyred4Sound DAC2
    Audioquest Black Mamba II

if you can get the RB-1090 at a good price , I'd say get it. It's one of those amps that you will own for a lifetime. It's a monster powerful amp that basically can power any speakers you own now and into the future.
The RMB-1095 is designed off the RB-1090. It's shares the same chassis. It doesn't have the same power output but really in real world listening the RMB-1095 is more then most will ever need.

Now with owning the LSI's , I don't see any need for adding the RB-1090 to your rig. If anything or you wanted to go 7 channel , I would suggest looking for a RB-1080. This amp is an exact match.

The problem also running the RB-1090 for your fronts and the RMB-1095 for everything else is the slight boost in Dynamic range. I have done this so many times and it's noticeable when your playing with high powered amps. After a few movies you find yourself trying to dial in your system over and over because things don't sound quite right.

I love the RB-1090 and if you want to grab it and save it for a 2 channel system , dude get it. Don't buy it for a possible upgrade on your current rig. I can think of many other tweaks you can do to enhance your system.

Hey Dan, your post was pretty much what I thought. It would be a nice pick up to have but since it really wouldn't add anything to my system I really don't see the point of it. I'm not about letting something sit around waiting to be used.

As I did mention I'm very, very pleased with the RMB-1095. That same money can be spent in other areas...diffusion panels come to mind to add to my project of getting my system to "play to my room". The poor room...the one overlooked componet that never gets reviewed yet has the most impact on how your system sounds.

Thats because it doesn't come with any buttons. Also it's not as cool. The room is the most important part of any system and the most overlooked when wanting better sound quality. My room is a familyroom which I have little control over tweaking so I spend my time trying to get my system the best it can be when if I spend time tweaking my room , I would yield much better results.
