Anyone pick up a pair of the 1Ms and maybe don't need them? I'm just looking to round out a system for the bedroom and would prefer to get pair between a CDP and int amp

Well, I had my cables held at the UPS center near me because I would have missed the delivery 3 days in a row and picked them up this morning. I got the 8m pair of exp2 interconnects to use with my JL fathom f112.

I was using a 15 foot single ended monster subwoofer cable that I got for around 15 dollars from amazon a while back when I still had my Klipsch Sub-12 woofer. It was connected via LFE. Before I hooked up my new cables I did a quick demo of the song "Just a lil bit" by 50 cent (crap I know but it hits hard on my sub). I have an SPL meter on my iphone and at -15 on my receiver I peaked at 89.2 dbs throughout the entire song.

I disconnected the old monster cable and hooked up the pair of new exp2's with a monster cable splitter that I used when I had both of my old subs. I now have each end of the interconnects into the left and right plugs on the back of the JL. I put the same song on with the same conditions (-15 on the receiver with all doors and windows closed in my loft) exact same seating position and had the phone in the same spot to read. To my surprise, I peaked at 91.4 dbs this time.

Over a 2db gain from swapping out the cables with the exact same conditions. I realize that my iphone likely isn't doing a "great" job with the spl reading but this really makes me interested in trying a better meter to see if I can achieve the same results.

All in all, i'm ecstatic with my purchase (42 bucks shipped) and am kicking myself for not giving a 2500 dollar sub more than a 15 dollar cable to begin with.

Someone with more expertise can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that anytime you use both the left and right inputs on the sub instead of just one you will get an approximately 3 db gain. So if that's right then that would explain the decibel increase.

What I am interested to know is do you notice any change in the quality of the bass? Is it tighter? More refined? Weightier? I remember noticing all these things when I added a DIY power cable and a better interconnect.

^Having not listened to enough on the new cables yet its hard to tell if there is a quality change especially because most of my music is MP3. I will say that it's hitting a lot harder now though. The shake in my chair is a lot stronger.

My cables just arrived today (ordered 2x the 1.5m EXP1's- one for pre-amp, other for pre-sub). I was excited all day, but had to refrain from tearing the 2ch down and re-building until work was done.

I was able to get everything set up and connections were double checked pretty quickly...imagine the disappointment when the right speaker has no sound. I panicked thinking I screwed something up, but after some trouble-shooting it turns out one IC from one of the pairs isn't working.

I guess I'm hoping MIT Express has good customer service and accepts a return/refund; in the meantime it's only a few bucks for an awesome cable and I can at least enjoy the new cable between pre/amp.

Sound quality? Not much other than the music being 'quieter'. I don't have a SPL meter, but I feel the same song pre/post change just sounds a bit lower volume. Detail and imaging are all the same. I noticed a much greater change adding the MIT speaker cables a few weeks ago. Of course, those are initial reactions...time will tell. Either way, I'm more than happy for at the very least the reassurance of removing another 'weakest link' from my system for a great price.

Another thing I noticed- the packaging for the two pairs was different. Both were labeled 'b-stock', but they were different sizes and had very different text information on the backs. I can't remember which package the bad cable came from though.
