DSW MicroPRO 2000 Subwoofer Hum

I just got a Polk Audio DSW MicroPRO 2000 Subwoofer, but unfortunately it emits a hum at all times from the main speaker driver. This occurs whether or not an audio source is plugged in, and regardless of location or electrical outlet. I assume that this is a defective amplifier, but wanted to ask if anyone else has any suggestion since this is going to cost a bundle to ship somewhere.
Thanks
Thanks

Get a cheater plug and remove the ground post from the outlet. I'd bet it's a ground loop.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

A ground loop should not be possible if no audio source is plugged in. I've had ground loops in the car but they always disappeared if the audio cables were disconnected. This unit hums if nothing is connected to it other than the power cord, and even through a $300 power conditioner, and the hum is strong enough to visibly move the driver and be heard from 10 feet away in a noisy room.

I am looking for quality, which is why I chose a small sealed subwoofer over the two ported bandpass models I already own, but since I can't start with silence when there is no music playing, I think this unit has a problem. I was just hoping there was something I might be missing.

If the driver is moving with no audio source connected something is wrong with the unit. Call Polk support, they'll take of you.

I have contacted Polk Audio who are sending out a replacement amplifier so I don't have to ship the whole unit away. I will try to report again when this is resolved.
