AudioQuest Type 8 Single Bi Wire
Well I just got a pair of Aduioquest Type 8 single biwire cables used off of ebay. How do these cables stack up against others? Anybody using them? It was kind of an impulse buy since they were on ebay for a good price and wouldn't last long.
I cant use them yet because I sent my RTI A7's and CSI A4 crossovers out to be upgraded with clairity caps, and mills resistors.
Thanks for your time

Not to derail your thread but who is is doing the work on your crossovers? Hopefully you will post up some comments as I have been wanting to do this to my RTi10s.
I do have Audioquest Slate speaker cables which I like very much but coming from some cheap no name bulk cable I can't offer much of a comparison.AVR: Elite VSX-21TXH

I've never tried Type 8s, but I use Type 4s. Original cables were Monster XP. Soundstage was dramatically better after switching to the AQs in the front. No comparison. Hopefully that's remotely helpful as I'm sure the Type 8s will sound slightly different from what I have.AUDIO - Fronts: Polk Audio RTI A9's | Center: Polk Audio CSI A6 | Sides: Polk Audio FXi A4's | Sub: HSU STF-1 | Receiver: Yamaha RX-V663 w/ AQ Type-4s | Amp: Rain MM-6 (300W x3)| Power: Panamax M5300-PM

Yea I am going from regular monster 12 ga wire to these type 8's. So hopfully it should be a good upgade.
It just seems like audioquest has a 100 different cables and who knows how different or simalar they sound.
Check out the Polk RTI A7 thread in the DIY forum. Those are mine. I hope it is a big difference in sound. Not that I am displeased with the RTI A7.They sound great, but I just can't leave anything factory.
Thanks again

The Type 8 speaker wires are in my opinion the best of their class. You should be very happy with them for many years to come not to mention you can upgrade speakers without having to upgrade your speaker wires. Type 8's go very nicely with the analog Diamond backs.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time.
