I cant tell you how many times my cell phone has came in handy:
Internet, GPS, camera, video recorder, music player, telephone, and so on.. Why not take advantage!!!!

Man, I have to listen to my logistics teacher (60 something years old) rag on GPS all the time. He insists that maps are better. I ask him how often his map gets updated compared to my GPS.. not to mention that all the POI's are great. Sure, if you don't have reception, a GPS can be less functional, but most can still be used as maps. Old people

I know hating cell phones is kind of harsh but I just can't warm up to them. The idea of being (or expected to be) available at all times would drive me crazy.

If a the company you work for wants you to have one they will provide it to you & pick up the tab for it.

That certainly doesn't prevent you from having one of your own to use as you wish.

Last year I bought a going out of stock Samsung Gravity at T-Mobile, it cost 139.00 I had them move my sim card from my old phone into the new one. I bought a 1100 minute card 2 years ago for 100.00. So long as I go in before a year is up I just give them 10.00 for 10 minutes to renew it. I only pay 10.00 a year for having a phone. It has more than enough minutes for me since I only use it when I need to. Only my brother, cousins, and trusted friends have my number, and even they know that they need to call my home phone if they need to reach me.

Personally I hope the FCC vetos the merger between T-Mobile & AT&T. I don't want them messing with my LACK of a monthly plan!
