So people don't sing live at concerts anymore?

. Fergie, The pussycat dolls, Katy Perry are just a few examples of absolutley zero singing ability.
Who cares? They're hot. Britney on the other hand...not so much anymore.
I saw Fergie singing with Heart and I enjoyed it.

REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
You sure about that statement??
www.peopleofwalmart.com/I apologize to any Britney fans out there but I can find more talent and better looks at the local Wal-Mart for free and I live in a rural area of the South, if that tells you anything. -
Who cares? I do. If I want to look at hot girls I would google hot girls or search **** etc. If music to you is all about hot girls your in the wrong forum.
REGARDS SNOW
You were just talking about their lack of singing capabilities but now you're calling it music?
Just like you say if you want to look at hot girls you'd google it, etc. Well, if I want to listen to good music, I just tune in to stations that are NOT pop. Problem solved
I'm just saying, if you dont like their music or inability to sing or whatever...what does it matter? Just dont listen to it.

At least Brittney's crap isn't rap.

Why is anyone surprised. Talent hasnt had anything to do with pop music in a long time. Say what you will about the hair bands from the 80's, they were all very skilled, talented musicians and it was the last time when the top 40 was populated by such. Apart from your Dave Matthews Band and a few others, its been all fluff and image. No time in history has popular music been so devoid of talent and musicianship than now.
For example, here is a clip of Reb Beach. Guitarist for one of the cheesiest bands of all time - Winger. But I dare anybody to say this guy isnt freaking amazing. And hes just one. You can throw out any of the guys from Ratt, Dokken, White Lion even Bon Jovi. Image and fluff definitely mattered then but so did boat loads of talent.

I actually listen to alot of pop music while driving...
I am a huge rock fan but honestly rock music to me feels like it has been beat to death -- its the same **** different singer...
When rock music strays from comfort and breaks out into something more than power chords and basic 4/4 beats - or gives up on playing as fast as possible and head banging...
On the same token you have the opposite side of the fence of Dave Matthews - while awesome musicians very few of their songs actually get your foot tapping. The music has no flow alot of the times!
I have been in a musical rut for a while now because my main genre of choice just sucks. I am not a classic rock fan because the recording quality is ****. Rock now is horrible because its just bad.
Jazz and blues is cool - but kind of the same issue as Dave Matthews, little flow and depressing as hell.
Either way -- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Maybe you need to go listen to some music in a tittie bar, it always sounds just a little bit better in those places for some weird reason.

I'm right there with you on most points. I listen to some pop songs...including those from Katy Perry, the Pussycat Dolls, and Fergie. I mean, I dont go out and buy their CDs, but they each have a few songs I like.
I cant STAND Dave Matthews. I'd honestly (not lying...) rather listen to max's Spears video than him. He makes me want to microwave babies. The guy has talent, I'll give him that, but I hate his music...mostly his voice, but his style is just not for me. I've heard John Mayer has a lot of talent...I hate him equally.
Classic rock? I love classic rock. I'm also a fan of 90s music which is typically shunned on this forum as well. Give me some 90's alternative and rap (which some was extended from the 80s, Run DMC for example) and I can listen to that all day.

in counterpoint to the thesis of this thread, I offer four words.
Linda.
McCartney.
Yoko.
Ono.
They, regretfully, chose not to lip synch.

Yea, I recall Perry on some unplugged show/thing and she looked/sounded legit...
I put a lot of stock in "longevity" of an "artist" and I love seeing their evolution over time. Ask me about any of these in 5 years. I bet we barely remember most of their names.Analog Source: Rega P3-24 Exact 2 w/GT delrin platter & Neo TT-PSU Digital Source: Lumin T2 w/Roon (NUC) DAC: Denafrips Pontus II Phono Preamp: Rega Aria MK3 Preamp: Rogue RP-7 Amp: Pass X150.8 Speakers: Joseph Audio Perspective 2, Audio Physic Tempo Plus Cables: Morrow M4 ICs & Audio Art SC-5 ePlus, Shunyata PCs Misc: Shunyata Hydra Delta D6, VTI rack, GIK acoustic panels -

Have any of you seen Michael Buble live? I know he isnt the most popular but he can honostly sing. And as stated above he does his last song of a concert without any mic's or amplification. He sounds amazing if you like that kind of music.Harman kardon signature 2.1 amp

I must apologize and try to make amends, too.
There's NEVER a situation where posting of Yoko Ono singing "Sisters" is ever called for or excusable. What I did was inhumane ! :redface:mhardy6647 wrote:The late Eva Cassidy.
