I'm with you here. They're putting all their chips on that that bet as well. They're going to be integrating webOS in all phone, tablet, laptop, and PC devices. Perhaps like a dual boot. I like the idea, especially if it gets you near instant-on performance. Plus it seems t be the only TRUE multi-tasker. Aside from the playbook, which looks pretty smooth itself.

From what I heard, WebOS is going to be run inside a window in Windows for now, and not as an actual OS alternative (yet).

From what I've seen of the Playbook, it's just a WebOS tablet with a different skin. Although, don't you have to have a Blackberry in order to use the mail/messaging/calendar feature to it's full extent?

    I was partially right - http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/29/blackberry-playbook-faq-confirms-native-email-calendar-and-cont/

Right now, the Playbook doesn't (and won't at launch) have any built-in contacts, email, or calendar apps at all. In order to have access to them, you have to pair a Blackberry with it.

The Playbook will be getting those apps "eventually", but unless you have a Blackberry...it's practically useless except as a media device.

For all of you who might want to use your IPAD or IPHONE for home theater control, check out the IRULE app. It is pretty sweet. It does requiire external equipment but it is not that expensive. I have been eye it and might take the plunge.

I must use both an iPhone and an EVO, as well as both MAC and PC. I've been using PC's forever and have found Apple to be confusing and a little goofy.

My boss uses Apple because he is kind of a techno-midget so I indulge him by learning to put up with Apple......small price to pay for a dream job.

iTunes PISSES ME OFF with it's strange love-affair with DRM and its almost ****-like control issues (read Steve God).

I don't believe Apple can't survive without Steve God. I'm sure there are thousands of talented people who work there who probably agree with me, however, if Apple did go away, I would not care or lose a minute's sleep over it.

We use what we use here because we WANT to. The corporate stuff that they give you is usually ancient anyway.
