Wanting to tryout a Paradigm center. While my Lsic sounds good, i'm wondering if a Paradigm center might do the trick. I used to own a polk cs-350, and it blew my mind. I remember it sounding better than my Lsic, detailed and great clarity, and that was without an amp! Anyhow, please weigh in if you can. I have particularly become interested in the Paradigm cc-590, and cc-690. Peace.

if you are going to use a Paradigm center then get rid of the Lsi's and go all Paradigm.
The main speakers and the center need to match perfectly in order to have a balanced system , at least the front 3.

Paradigm is a different sounding speaker , you should listen before you buy. I have Installed many CC models , the CC-690 is a beast of a center.

I realize that my lsi15's would have to go. I do love those, so maybe they would stay for bedroom duty. I just want more from my lsic center, and I doubt modifying it would please me enough. So in your opinion, do any of Polks current center speakers compete with the cc-590 or cc-690?

I owned the lsi 15's and the LSIC and never felt like it lacked or there was anything wrong with it. I found it to blend in with the Lsi15's perfectly. I also owned both Rotel and B&K gear to drive them correctly. I also had them placed properly. I have hung the LSIC on a wall , on top of a TV , in a cabinet , free standing on top of a cabinet etc and never once felt as you and other do.
I'd love to come to your place and see your system , amps , wire and placement. I bet I can get it to sing the way it is suppose to and you wouldn't feel as you do. With a proper subwoofer and correct crossover / calibration it works perfectly even in larger rooms.

Too bad youre not in Socal. I have tried different amps, wires, and adjusted the settings in my processor. I played with the placement as well. None of which yielded significant results. I would love to temporarily swap out the lsic for a paradigm cc just to cure my curriousity.

More than one person on here has gone against convention and gotten a different CC then their Polks including the LSIs.

I have a huge Boston Accoustics CC and I think it sounds just fine with the rest of my mismatched Polks.

What's most important is having good clarity of the CC, so if you think a Paradigm will do the job, get one.

    Here ya go for impressions.

    I'm running a paradigm cc-370 with rti10's.
I've got no complaints with it. I got it for next to nothing
(broken solder joint) and haven't felt the need to replace it.
LSI are a different animal, though.
