Glad I drive like an old man on public roads nowadays - age and family will do that to ya. Spent many a nights racing on "Westnedge" as a dumb teenager. A public cruising strip in Michigan where many a muscle car would gather every weekend to prove a point. Started out with a 400BB '78 Trans Am w/ Hurst 4-speed - a car that my father and I rebuilt in the garage (that damn car was faster than any stock car had a right to be), then moved on to a '71 corvette w/a supped-up 350 (I mostly just cruised with this low mileage beauty), then on to a 4-speed Mustang GT. These videos are quite accurate as to how terrible some people are at driving a powerful car. It's truly amazing how many people can't handle a car when they try to push it to its limits. The tach starts hitting above 4000rpm, and their brain seems to just freeze up. For me, my brain didn't start engaging until 4K. Fast cars and slow people don't mix well, of course neither does public roads, fast cars and teenagers. These days I just putt around in my SUV. I surprisingly don't have any need to go fast anymore, funny since that was all I thought about as a youngin.

    Nice vette Mike!

Thanks! Yes, 11.0-11.1's @ 120 on warm, muggy days. Should be good for a high 10 in cool weather.

Being able to pull away from any bike on the parkway is priceless.

Yes, I'm referring to the smaller bikes. An 1100 will leave me like I'm standing still.

You'd kill me on my 600, and its one of the faster 600s out there. My bike runs 10.97 stock. Unfortunately, thats with a professional rider...I'd probably see low 12s if I ever took it to a drag strip. I'd like to take it to the Texas mile someday when I'm done with all my 'go fast' parts.

I'd much rather have a 12 second car than a 10 second bike...unfortunately, to get a RELIABLE 12 second car costs a lot more money than a reliable 10 second bike...and I'm tight on funds!

It is cool to know that my bike redlines at 16.5k though :)
