nice times. any improvements since then?
Thanks! Yes, 11.0-11.1's @ 120 on warm, muggy days. Should be good for a high 10 in cool weather.

Being able to pull away from any bike on the parkway is priceless.

When are you going to take the Vette out of the garage again?

I hope you make it into the 10's this summer...

Let me know when you are going to E-town or Atco, I got an HD camcorder and would like to try it out sometime soon

the bad part is, those liter bikes are going deep 10's from the factory, and from a roll are ridiculous.

couldnt help but notice it sounded like an auto, dont see that very often anymore, and as an import guy, i love seeing autos at the track, great consistency. what have you done with the drivetrain to help it hold that power? im not going to assume on a hp/tq output. and just for an easier question, what tire are you throwing on the back end of that vette?

His car is an auto. One of the things I noticed is that it takes a lot of revving to get the car going, but once it hits 4k you better hold on. This is compared to a stock Vette though. I believe that effect is because of the high stall converter he has in the car? He mentioned that the rear end and tranny were upgraded too. Either way, his car is friggin awesome!

i know about having to rev the hell out of a car to make power. then again when you can still make usable power at 8300rpms, you cant expect much at 2k. a nice high stall will get it moving off the line. seemed as if he may have been babying it a bit off the line, unless thats just how its set-up. and assumed some trans work was done, just curious as to the specifics.

the last vette i raced before i sold my coupe was dumbfounded (see: murder) by his inability to keep up at higher speeds (70mph+) but he could destroy me from a dig. to be expected on a 205-50 street tire tho vs a 305 lol.

Face has a very nice vette, he would have dragged me down the road with ease LOL.

Yes, I'm referring to the smaller bikes. An 1100 will leave me like I'm standing still.

Yes, it's an A4 with 3.90 rear and a 4400 stall converter, 26x10 MT slicks. The last time the tranny and rear end were beefed up it was by The Vette Doctors. Before using them, I went through quite a few IRS's. IIRC, the last time I had it dynoed it put just over 400hp and 400lbs/ft to the ground, large converters really hamper dyno numbers. Then again, dyno numbers are just as worthless as WPC ratings. And you're correct about consistency, I was 6th in points one year in the Corvette Challenge race series(over 100 drivers) and have won multiple GMHT Magazine and other various shootouts.

nicely done on the points. those numbers seem a bit under what it should really be, but like u said, dyno numbers are about as useful as wpc lol. i never got as serious with it as i wanted to, probably never will have the opportunity as audio and billiards have taken over my life. that 10.999 mark can be a real hassle to get, u can always throw on the laughing gas to get it though LOL. im a tad surprised you were eating up rear-ends running 11's, to be honest. a bit of preload usually can get you some time from them. i blew up 2 differentials before i learned that one. and the 600's, while quick, really dont seem to be all that quick when you are in a 11 second car, typically they are tapping on your windows when you run them.

but lets remember, street racing is a terrible terrible thing to do. all races should be performed on closed courses by trained professionals with medical personnel close, and only in peak ideal conditions. lol

Street racing takes the lives of many every year and injures many others. I'd hate to be the family crossing the street after a late night movie and some teenager is flying down the road and loses control...

If you want to race, take it to the track.

while i agree with this, many of the races i have taken part in were on open highways with no traffic. i can willingly admit this. there was a time i was very young and extremely stupid about it, but i havent engaged in any form of street racing in YEARS. its not worth the risk, both being illegal and deadly.

My problem was that I averaged 1.49-1.55 60's.

    ????

Mustangs in the low 8 second range that I ran only did 1.20-1.25 60 foot times. 1.49-1.55 60's is movin' pretty good out of the hole for a low 11 second car. It's actually more in line with low 10's to high 9's.

FYI, so you don't get someone who actually knows questioning your "jokes" again, a top fuel dragster doesn't even get down to .75 second 60 ft times.

These are the pertinent numbers for Brandon Bernstein's Budweiser TF Dragster:

    1/4 Mile ET: 4.498
    1/4 Mile MPH: 333.740
    0-60 Foot ET: 0.987

Even the current E.T. record of 3.770 from Larry Dixon recorded on 02/27/11 at Pomona was only in the .90-.92 range.

Do you have issues? 'Cause I don't see where I said anything even remotely close to that.

I have a ton of experience with drag racing. I am pretty good with performance vs. E.T. All I did was question your "joke" which I obviously didn't see the humor you were trying to convey. Nevermind the fact that you told Face he needed to do something that even the top echelons of the sport have been unable to do to date. Yeah, you may have been exaggerating to make a point but to me, I didn't see the humor since his 60 ft times were already significantly below his competition at the E.T. range he is in.

I'm really not sure how you got "you are right. i know nothing about any automobile." out of that.
