My neighbor let me audition his SDAs, now I can't live without them.
Looking for a pair in Denver area, will travel a bit to pick up.
I'm not sure what model number - his have a full array; 8 drivers and 4 tweets.
Hurry! he's gonna want them back soon.
Condition must be excellent.
(Sorry I posted this under the SDA sticky too - wasn't sure where it should be)

So are you just looking for the 1.2 or 1.2tl? do you even really know what a set of these in excellent condition usually goes for?
-
I'm not sure what the model number is but I'm looking for these:
I've seen prices from $1000 to $1500 for them in great condition. I'm willing to pay a fair price for a very nice pair.
Maybe I need an education? I'm all ears.
Have you got some for sale? -
Those are sda srs's or 1.2's but the 1.2tls look the same with sl3000's tweeters. All are good with the tl's being the favorite.
-
Thank you leroyjr1,
I'm not sure if the pair I'm listening to right now are the tl's or not, is there any way to tell? -
Can you take a picture?
-
-
They have the sl2000 tweeters so they're either srs or 1.2's not the tl model. What does the sticker on the back say? Looks nice.. What kind of setup are you running?
-
I looked for a model number and could not find anything other than SRS.
So I guess I would be happy with a pair like these or the TL model...
My set-up is nothing to write about but I really enjoy it with these speakers.
Am I in the ballpark price-wise? -

I'm thinking they're the original SRS's. All are great and sound outstanding. Some wait weeks and some wait years to find a nice pair of the big boys. You might want to sweeten up the neighbor so he'll sell his.
It might be time for a long road trip. There's a pair in Texas. -

Believe me I've tried - I don't think he's gonna give in.
I'm up for a road trip if needed. -
They are the SDA SRS's you can tell by the crossover plate. I'm sur the cable for them is a Blade/Blade as well.
Any of the three and you will be good to go,but keep in mind that the 2.3 and 2.3tl's are a great find as well.. -
About where do you live at???

good to see there are a few of us from Denver here.
So, are there any of these available around here? -
check CL and e-bay is all you can do, usually there are a bunch of SDA around Denver but not at the moment. You might want to look at 2.3, 2.3tl's 3.1tl or 1c's as well all great SDA speakers but not as big as those your auditioning. You do need a common ground amp for all SDA's though or an adapter
some in DFW area as mentioned above and they're tl's

I think I want to stick with the big boy SRS/1.2 or 1.2tl.
For now, the drive to Dallas is just a little more than I want to do (13 hours each way)
I'll watch CL or maybe someone here will see this. Thanks for all your help guys.
PS. we tested the ground on my amp before we hooked them up and it's fine. -

thats good to hear, now I am not tempted to offer you my 2.3tl's, JK
Those 1.2tls in dallas look great though. -
At least he has lowered his price by $100.
Are you sure your room is big enough for the big boys ?
2.3s or 1Cs is you have a meduim to small room.
Have 1Cs in a 25X16 room and the 1Cs do a fantastic job filling the room with sound.
I would love to have the big boys but since they would have to go on a 16' wide wall I believe the 1Cs are a better choice for me.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)
Preamp: Joule Electra LA-150 MKII SE
Amp: Wright WPA 50-50 EAT KT88s
Analog: Marantz TT-15S1 MBS Glider SL| Wright WPP100C Amperex BB 6er5 and 7316 & WPM-100 SUT
Digital: Mac mini 2.3GHz dual-core i5 8g RAM 1.5 TB HDD Music Server Amarra (memory play) - USB - W4S DAC 2
Cables: Mits S3 IC and Spk cables| PS Audio PCs -
The 1.2's work great in my room now... (25' back wall)
I emailed the guy in Dallas and he's not too pressed to sell them.
I asked if he'd be interested in driving part way to meet me but he's not.
I'll wait for a while to see if I can't find a pair closer. -
I have a very nice pair of 2.3s in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

What type of interconnect cable does it have? If it's blade/blade, they are original SDA SRS's. If it's a pin/blade IC, they are SDA SRS 1.2's.
Note: There is no such thing as a pin/blade original SRS, at least not that I've ever seen or heard of. You can't go by what the label on the back is, nor can you rely on the number of screws on the crossover plates as Polk used up old stock on newer models to clear out their inventory.
Too bad you don't live closer to St. Louis....SDA SRS 2.3TL's

Why are you selling???

FNBD don't be so hard pressed on the biggest SDA's without listening to some others. 8 replacement tweeters are a chunk of change and add to the extra amplification you need for the big ones you might open up yourself to some of the "smaller" SDA's. I personally feel the 2B's when played to pretty friggen loud levels sound the best out of all the SDA's.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

What amp and setup are you currently running? -
I disagree!!! I have had the 2B's (and are a great speaker) and I have the 1C's (and I love them as well) but they don't get me as hard as the 1.2tl's. The only other SDA i love as much as the 1.2tl's is the 2.3tl's..
I will keep in mind I have spent more time setting up the 1.2tl's and they are my main speakers but they will die with me!!!
