We came, we saw and we loved it!

What a great tour and what a great group of people at Polk!

There's more to follow when time permits, but here is a shot of Matt signing my FX 500 surround. Micah has mail with pics. They'll be on here soon.

Yeah, thats Russman's boy in the chair!

Is Matt having fun, or is he just totally beat down?

I see a box of donuts, a PR from and SDA, and Sid sitting there with his mouth open.

    Let's see some more!!!!

    Cheers,

Matt enjoyed himself, real cool guy.

That's Trey sitting down, Mark standing, Matt signing and the very top of Chuck's head. We had a blast and for me it was even better than the first visit. Everyone at Polk treated us like VIP's. My thanks to Matt, Micah, Paul, Dave, Justin, Ken, Al and everybody else whose names escape me at the present time.......
    THANK YOU!!!

I need to add a thanks to Mark for putting this whole thing together.

Hey guys, i look forward to hearing more about your fantastic trip to Polk Land. Will you be posting any more pics? I hope so.

There was no way I could make the trip.... as bad as I wanted to go... just not possible. Maybe this could be a yearly pilgramage? ha ha ha

    It was absolutely fantastic!

I echo John's statement, of HUGE thanks to the Polk Team for really going out of there way for the tour. Thanks so much, it really was incredible. :D

I am real glad that my small brain lit up with the idea to post the original thread for the tour. It certainly worked out well.

It was really nice to meet some forum fanatics like Chuck(MadMax), Trey(aljdsfiowj), Eddie(Trey's father), Sean(ATC) and John(John). :)

Pictures will be posted as fast as I can get them back from the shop...John has a buttload of pictures for you guys also.

Ahhh, so THAT is Mark (Doro).

Nice to put a face with a name, especially after all the a+ transactions we've had.

Always figured Chuck as balding (no offense bro), interesting.

Polk flat out ROCKS, not just as a speaker manufacturer, but compared to ANY company. Think Cervin Vega would do this? How about Microsoft? Ford?

Good on ya guys, I still wish that was MY pr sitting there.

    Cheers,

What a great day! What else can I say. We saw everything from how to put a driver together (seriously, a driver made from scratch) to how things are marketed. Top secret testing methods, enviromental testing, how to work with carbon fiber, computer controlled prototype machinery, QA testing, in-wall speaker demos (you wouldn't believe the sound of their new in-walls!), you name it. (I still don't know what Micha does though). Man, I'm happy for the next few months. Oh yea, the highlight of my year: a demo of the SRT system!!! (a stereo pair). Polk is awesome!

Don't worry sid, I have the same problem. So much going on in the mind and so little leaving the lips. (fingers on the keyboard is a different story!)

The SDA's, or SRT in this case has so much going on that it takes quite a while to really grasp what it is doing. You only got a very small taste. Had I known we were going to get a listen I would have brought some CD's that would have knocked your socks off. If you ever get the chance you should pick up a set of 1C's, 2.3's or 1.2's. The most awesome speakers ever made!

    Well.....

I have my right main wired IXOS...and the left HD.....

My sister is studying and I can't play it to loud. This isnt no louder than 40db...I can hear a difference

The bass is punchier, louder, the highs are cleaner and more crisp, and the vocals are cleaner sounding - can't wait to turn this up......

    HD go down the crapper.....

The LCi series, I would assume? Did you get to hear them in conjunction with LSi speakers to see how they matched up? It's not critical info, but I've been thinking about getting some for when I eventually get a house.

Did you get to hear the PSW808 by chance?

I'm sure that was total bliss.:p So, who picked up that sheet of speaker grill to be signed for me?:(

It sounds like you guys had a great time. It also sound like Polk HQ deserves a huge thumbs up. It doesn't seem like they had you guys sitting at the receptionist desk for an hour. I can imagine a bunch of guys standing around saying "Hey, we post on your Forum. What do we get?"

    Fireshoes,

We listened to the new LCi's, both small and larger versions. The larger one sounded pretty damn good. They will have a special enclosure for the in-walls that you place in between the studs, it will help it to sound even better (so they told us), but we did not have a chance to compare the in-walls to the LSi's. The 808 was not available for a demo.

I sent Micah the remainder of the pics. I'll let him send them off to Web GOD Justin (who we also met) so he can do something with them such as a seperate page on the polk site.

Everytime I go to post one it says file too big. Good lord, I can't shrink it down any further. You won't be able to see it!

Oh yeah, there's about 12 pics I sent too him. I'll post this one of Trey standing next to the "Holy Grail!" It's small, but you can make it out fine.

Trey, want a big version of this one? Give me an email address.

The PSW808 was present but yea we weren't able to hear it. There was one in the conference room, that we went into first.

The Car Audio guys will be happy also, the new Db line looks real nice. They really have a squared away crew in the back handling the custom installs. I will drop a line over in their forum, the evil forum, and drop some news.

John - Would you email me the pics? I dropped mine off yesterday. I will forward them to you when I get them.

Yeah, we had a lot of fun.

It was a blast to meet everyone, putting faces to names for the people we've never met, and showing off how cool we can be here. Watching Freeman hand-assemble a driver right in front of our faces was pretty cool, I had never seen that before!

I think the vibe here at Polk is that we will try to think of ways to do this again, do it better, and do it more often. (Don't all volunteer to show up next week, tho; give us some time to think this through.) Jim Herd, Polk president, has been seen on this forum (everyone better be on their best behavior), so I'm sure he's seen your posts and is impressed with the impact this event had on all of us.

Now, if we could only get the AC fixed in this department. It's sweltering in here, it's putting me to sleep.

Thanks all, especially to John for the cool pics. If I were smarter, and less sonambulent from the heat, I'm sure I could figure out how to post them!
