I received a call from the service center earlier today and informed me that their place was burglarized :eek:and my PIONEER ELITE SC07 was TAKEN:frown: along with other items.

They guaranteed that it will be replaced for a similar item, wondering what current ELITEs is equal to my SC07? Just hatin' this!:mad:

You'll get either the SC-37 or the 35 which the 37 would be the exact replacement while the 35 would be the old 05 but better of course.

Thats sucks though and I'm sorry to hear about it!

SC37 is the direct replacement, accept no substitutes. I would be highly upset, but no need to be since that's completely out of your control. If your a good actor, perhaps they would give you the SC-09 (Susano). Now that would be awesome. Hope they get it all sorted out for you quickly bro, without any upsets or hassle.

I would hope at the very least that they would not charge you for a repair after this. It's not like it would come out of their pocket. That's what business insurance is for. Having them charge for the shipment of an equal or greater unit would, IMO, be fair.

Sorry to hear of this though. Losing one's gear is never an easy thing to swallow. Regardless of how it happens.

Per Pioneer's email response, the equivalent is the SC37.

@ Sherardp, hope is well with you back there in Japan. GODspeed Man.

If you get a 37 you will love it. It's got all the bells and whistles, and the DSP in it is golden.

Where is this place? I think mine isn't working correctly , so they can steal my Sc-07 and I would love to take a Sc-09.

Anyway sorry to hear that your Sc-07 got stolen from a repair shop , that sucks but the Sc-37 is a direct replacement and just has more to it. It has Height / width channels and is 3D ready. Network upgrades and IP control. Other then that it's exactly the same. O it has 2 more HDMI inputs one on the back and one on the front. If you need more then 4 then this is a nice upgrade / side grade if you will.

Sorry to hear Dog. If it makes you feel any better, my car was in the shop for 6 months. During that time, the original mechanic got sick and passed, his son took over and stole all the car audio equipment out of my car (totalling around $3k damage in merch and damage to the doors), and when I got it back it knocked horribly. I had to file on my own insurance plan to get coverage too.

It sounds like they are trying to do the right thing. If they own up and deliver, then I see no issues other than the delayed enjoyment. If they don't, I know an auto mechanic that you can refer them to "in good faith"

I always took my subs and headunit out when my vehicle needed any service. It's not that I don't trust the area, but, as the old saying goes, "**** happens". I didn't wanna be the guy who had **** happen.

What did you have in your car back then?

The service center gave me the impression that they might replace it VSX33 or plain reimburse me for how much I paid for (bought it new 50%). They keep telling me that Pioneer said this, or told them this .....WTF . They asked for 1week and I gave them 2WEEKS, too nice to them GRRR. Currently, they are seeking for the same SC07 unit from a wholesaler, and I TOLD THEM that they will never find such ELITE like SC07 in any wholesaler coz NOBODY is crazy enough to sell them or replace them. GRRRRRRRR
So PIONEER is responsible now! WTF.........I dont know really, I guess I gave it to them under warranty condition to upgrade the firmware. DUDE, I want K I L L somebody!!!! W T F. As resisted to them, I will not settle for anything less than the current exact replacement!!!

I wrote to Pioneer to seek help, hope I'll get some assistance.:frown: Here's my letter:

    Hello Nicole,

As a Pioneer's valued customer, I am seeking for your assistance on the matter I stated on my previous note. The service center (Professional Video Engineering) informed me that PIONEER told them to seek the replacement from a wholesaler in replacing my stolen SC07. They said Pioneer will plain reimburse me for how much I paid for (bought it new 50% off) or replace it with a VSX-33. As resisted to them, I would not settle for anything less than the current equivalent model, SC-37. Basically, they gave me an impression that they will not be responsible/ partially in replacing my stolen Pioneer Elite SC07. I am unsure who's the liable party since this was submitted under warranty condition. Please help. Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    Edwin

    To whom it may concern,
Delivered my EliteSC07 to a Pioneer Service center for a firmware update
last week and was recently informed that the service center war
burglarized over the weekend. As promised, they will replace my stolen
unit but my concern is that I would like to know the equivalent of the
Elite SC07 to the current ELITES today. I am a AV enthusiast and always
get the best gear I can have, at that time it was the 2nd best from the
    EliteSC09.

Per your website, the option I can think of is the PIONEER SC-37.
    Please advice.

If things are not going your way, and you truely belive they are giving you the run around, I'd contact your local BBB. File a complaint, maybe that will get them going on finding you a replacement. Good luck...

I would tell them if they do not resolve the issue in the next few days, you are prepared to file a claim against them .
I believe you?re covered under Small Claims court? If this is the case, I would give them until about next Tuesday and follow through with filing a claim.

Small claims court. It will cost them more to get the Attorney involved then to simply do right by you.

It doesn't matter what someone pays for their BMW 328i. It matters that you get a model that is comparable in features and stature.

You didn't obtain a VSX class product from Pioneer, you obtained an Elite model. If you would have won it in a random give away would they owe you nothing?

Yup, keep fighting for it, you can also go to your local tv station & get in touch with whomever does consumer affairs, Professional Video Engineering will get you what you want real quick rather than risk their reputation being trashed on local tv.

So either do that, or if you know or have any friends/family who are lawyers, to give them a call. They might be willing to just use 10 minutes of their time pro-bono to make this happen for you.

I had to do this for a tv I had. I was going to be one of the people who kept track of their viewing habits for Nielson. Well they came in, couldn't get my old 32" Sony TV to work. When they left I had a malfunctioning tv.

I had insurance from Tweeter, and the guy said the parts that were needed were no longer being made. The Nielson guy kept ignoring me every time I told him that the parts were out of stock & no I didn't know or could get to a tv repair shop.

So I called my brother who at the time was a lawyer at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. He gave them a call, and 20 minutes later the guy called me back telling me he would get me the current model of the newest Sony that matched mine!

The jerk had the nerve to ask if I was so upset with him why didn't I tell him. I told him I DID, but that he kept ignoring me when I did. Within a week I had a new tv. All it took was a phone call from my brother the lawyer!

Definately keep fighting to get what you deserve. But.... and I don't say this disrespectfully - run it by someone and let them proof-read it before you send it. The letter you wrote to Pioneer had quite a few grammar mistakes in it (I can tell you wrote out parts, then changed it, but never reworked the sentence to make sense)

Again, no disrespect - just saying you might get a faster or more professional response if you're coming across clearly and making your point known.

I took my Sunfire in for repair to the local repair shop and was told the repair would take 4-5 weeks. Then the guy joked with me that they wouldn't be there when I come back.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?
