Beautiful Audi and great place to live. Where was that pic. taken- downtown, or Barracks Rd. area maybe?? I used to live in Forest Lakes North, and my neighbors were the nicest people I could imagine-mainly military families. Wife and I couldn't take the gray skies though, and we had to move back to Sarasota.

Thank you sir.
And nice catch. That's actually downtown. I don't live there anymore but that was at Tarleton Square on High Street.
Barracks Rd is a MESS these days. I won't even go there if the students are in school.
Yea, lots of NGIC (national ground intelligence committee) folks up in the Forest Lakes area; that's a nice little strip on 29N, and close to the airport, which is convenient.
Hah, gray skies?? I assume you mean winter time. Summer is blazing hot and blue skis for sure.2007 Club Polk Football Pool Champ

Yes I am speaking of the winters. I guess you do get spoiled in S. Florida...(in the winter, at least)
That said, by the time Aug. hits down here, we're not smiling anymore. C'ville is a great place to escape the FL humidity. -

Mine - '03 Expedition (sits in the garage most of the time)

Heh, well either of those is going to get better mpg than the Yukon he had. I saw (and heard) that thing a while back, I bet he could see the needle drop when he drove it...

Nice ride. Always good to have a feel-good car.
I have a 1995 Red Mitsu 3000 GT VR-4 twin turbo. It's in good shape and fun to drive in the Rockies which is at my back door. Have a cool sound system too - play lots of Blues. -

TBH, considering it had a 496 ci big block and weighed 7000-7500ish lbs., it got decent mileage, 10.5 mpg average, 14 mpg highway. It could pull a stump out of the ground and could absolutely embarrass any other Yukon or Yukon XL out there in every performance aspect except for gas mileage. In short, my dream machine.
Moving up to a Duramax-powered truck will give me even more torque on tap with the capability of almost double the gas mileage. Diesel trucks are VERY easy to tweak for serious performance. It's not unrealistic to get over 20 mpg out of a diesel truck with 650 lb/ft torque available.
The Charger... well that's all pure fun. And it gets about 19-20 mpg, so it's still better than my Yukon.
In reference to fuel costs, they're not bad for me because I work close to my house, and it's all highway-travel.- Computer Rig -

Good luck with getting over 20mpg. I have never seen that. With mine having 36gal tank that would meen that I should be able to go 720mi before I run out, total crap. I don't care what the overhead readout says. -

Mainly via reprogramming your ECU, and a physical part here or there. My buddy's Cummins dually 3500 gets 24 hwy, my other buddy's Duramax gets 22. They all reprogrammed and put in an exhaust. The guy with the dually has a lot of Banks Power products.- Computer Rig -

Agreed. I had my Power Stroke 7.3L to 350hp and 650ft/lbs and never hit 20mpg even with programming, 6" exhaust, intake, etc. 35" tires didn't help, but they were only 2" over stock anyway, so they couldn't have made that much of a difference. -
I can only dream of 20 mpg in my 79 lol...I'd be lucky to hit 10 mpg coasting down a hill in neautral

I love that lifted '79. The classics are amazing. I'd love to restore one from the mid 80s sometime. That was my favorite series of them all.Good luck with getting over 20mpg. I have never seen that. Because you went up in tire size, have you considered a differential swap yet? Had I not totalled my Yukon, I was going to swap my diffs so that the engine/tranny sees the same final ratio. It had zero issues propelling itself with the OEM 3.73s installed, but I wanted to maintain my performance as much as possible. I went to 4.11s in my '03 Suburban and it helped out quite a bit with the upgraded tire size.
On a final note, I decided to pick up a 2011 Silverado. It's a better deal in the long run vs an older model. I'm getting one with the 4.8L V8, and am planning on doing a turbo to bring it back up to power levels that will hover somewhere around the 6.2L engine's output, but with the better handling and better gas mileage of the 4.8L.
Here's some pics of what's left of the Yukon. The driver side, flawless. The passenger side. f**ked. Feast your eyes...

Yeah that GTO will get up and go. GTO... Gas Tires Oil... seems to be the 3 things it consumes with wreckless abandon
I found a steal of a deal on a 2011 Silverado so I decided to go with that instead of the '06 w/ Duramax. I've already got a new box planned for my 15s, a Ranch Hand Summit Series bumper replacement ordered, and am looking at new wheels/tires + a leveling kit, and plan to have it turboed by the end of the year. My Daily driver: 1990 Mazda MX6 GT Turbo with.... some work.
Her Daily driver: 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4... seen here after delivering a load of race car parts. Soon to be modified with OME springs and adjustable Rancho shocks, rear disc brake conversion, trans cooler, and a nice stereo for towing said race car.
My race car: 1992 Celica GT "HalfTrac." This is slowly coming off hold. Picked up motor a couple months ago, will combine with the block currently in the car for a 2.2 litre stroker capable of 800-1000whp if i ever decide to put a big enough turbo on it. Only looking for about 400whp with a nice FAT powerband, though.
Her/Our race car: 1993 Escort GT. Build thread here: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/yeah-yeah-i-need-to-add-this-to-readers-rides/34254/page1/
Most recent acquisition: 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata with Flyin' Miata "Big Enchilada" kit, upgraded turbo, and a Hydra Nemesis 2.5 standalone Engine Management System. ~270whp + 4.10 rear end + 6 speed = holy hell.
Here's a link to the set with about half the pictures from the trip. I flew out to Oceanside, CA and drove it 3,000 miles home.

Looked long and hard at the Chrysler 300, but decided to go with the JGC Laredo. We're looking at the next house being on some acreage, so I wanted a 4x4. I have the Laredo Pentastar V6 (290hp) 4x4 with Outdoor adventure pkg (Trail rated) 4x4 selec-terrain system, Quadra-Trac II. I also got the tow pkg w/self-leveling rear shocks.
