7.1 Wire Length and Gauge

Ok pretty simple question, hoping for different opinons.

I know the pros and cons for monoprice wire, so the BRAND isnt really in question, more of the gauge and length.

Im going to pre wire my HT for 7.1, everything is going to be in the wall (furred wall not exterior, through metal studs, inside of either conduit or pvc to protect it). Because of the longer runs, I was going to use 12awg, I know its a little over kill but might as well with the amount Im running.

I need to know if I should still use CL-2 rated?

And also my speaker wire lengths are all different. I've heard that you should use the same length for each set of speakers. Here are my lengths I need

50'6" Right Rear Speaker
41'4" Right Side Speaker
24' Right Front Speaker
18' Center Speaker
12' Left Front Speaker
11'4" Left Side Speaker
26'4" Left Rear Speaker

Should I just have the extra speaker wire for the shorter ones sit in the wall? or should I run the lengths I need? The biggest deal would be the two rears, almost a 25' difference is a lot of wire to just sit there.

Works out to about 195'6" exact and about 250' for exact lengths.

Just run the lengths you need, and yes, for in wall, you should use CL-2. At least if you want to be in code.

Audio Quest 14/2 is a good wire and is CL2 rated. Not very expensive either. Do it right the first time.

Do you know off hand how much 200-250' would be? I dont mind spending money for good wires. But how about the distance to each speaker? 50' feet for expensive cable makes a difference
