TSi500 Bi-amping

Does anyone know if there can be a significant increase in bass performance by bi-amping (not bi-wiring) the TSi500 speakers?

I have heard that some speakers benefit and some don't.

I wish to know because I can either have 5.1 bi-amped or regular 7.1

long story short you will get the following answer here:

Dont spend the time bi-amping from a receiver, and its a PITA to truly bi-amp since you need 2 amps (and one cannot be the receivers) and an external crossover as well.....

Suggest getting a power amp if you can and read up lots....

there are about 3 threads started in the last day or so on this subject......

Onkyo's newer receivers are set to bi-amp with only their built-in amps (and I think most others can do this now too)
    Thanks for the quick response.

Yep but the more channles you run off the AVR the lower watts per channel it puts out. So it might be more benifical to hook them up regulary. I bi amped my RTI A7's on my onkyo 808 and couldnt really tell a difference. So I chose to not lower the out put by using 4 channels to drive the front 2 speakers. I left them hooked up regular.

That is not really bi-amping. Call it ghetto bi-amping at best. Goggle "how to bi-amp" and get your read on.
