I just recently purchased my first external amp(onkyo m282) and am happy with it but when i set the switch(audio in) to turn on when it receives a signal from the receiver it will only power up when the volume is turned up a bit. I figured it should turn on at any volume level since it is receiving a singal even at low volumes. Can anyone explain why that happens or have any advice on how to correct the problem? The amp works perfectly and looks great but i just hate having to manually power it own everytime i turn my system on.

    Leave the amp on 24/7

So you're using the 12v trigger? It looks like the trigger has settings, Audio or 12v... are you setting it to 12v? That way, the amp will go on and off with the pre/avr. Setting it up that way makes the most sense to me.

I have it set to audio in so when the receiver send a signal to the L/R channel it should come on but at low volumes it wont turn on until i turn it up a bit, i figured it would turn on even at low levels.

why not use the 12v trigger? it seems to me that if you turn on the receiver/pre you mean to listen to something, right?

If your amp and receiver have 12v triggers you can run it that way. Audio sense doesn't work well.
    Enjoy
