and it was beyond amazing; from the food, to the service, to the entire restaurant.
For those that don't know, it is a very exclusive club limited to only 487 members. The waiting list as of today stands at 14 years. Initial cost to join, $15,000 for your first year and $5,000 every year after that. It is located in Disneyland above the New Orleans area of the park.
An experience I will never forget, nor will the family. Of course, for the 5 of us we walked out with a bill of $720...and it was worth every penny.
Here's a few pics I was able to snap-off...

So are you a member or did you wait 14 years for your reservation? And what exactly does one get with a $15,000 membership and 5 grand per year?

A good friend of my mother-in-law has a membership so he set it up for us.
As for what you get, nothing other then tickets into the Disney parks for the day free of charge, you pay for everything else.
It is considered to be one of the most exclusive clubs in the States.If...

Ron, all due respect but for that price? You could hire Chef Ramsey or Flay, themself, for a night.
Still, congrat's on what sounds like a grand evening. It is always great to live like a millionaire for a night and if all your group had to pay was 720 smackers? Sounds like you came out ahead. The food must have been outstanding.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? I once worked for a company in Costa Mesa, and one of the sales executives had a membership so one day we went to Disneyland to play, and had dinner there. From my perspective it was okay, but in my mind there are better ways to spend money.
If I remember right, you do get to park near the entrance and bypass the lines to get into Disneyland.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Here is the dinner menu from December 2010
A steak dinner at Mannys in Mpls run twice this...........prices do not seem that outrageous at all......now add the bottle of wine that can coat up to $1,000 and the bill can get quite spendy but there are loads of restaurants in the country costing a lot more.............my brother takes his clients there monthly...he loves it..glad you had a great time Ron...now he he spends his money is up to him..so for those who want to feed the poor of the world so be it but this isnt the thread to comment on that at all, this is about a great and wonderful time one ahd with family and friends..... -
It averaged out to $125 per person, not too bad considering all that was involved. That also included Disneyland / CA Adventure tickets for the day, that alone would cost you $90+.If...

Yeah, after that? I'd like to amend my post to say....
"Congratulations, glad you enjoyed a wonderful meal."

congrats Ron, I love a great dinner that's like a work of art. I expect to spend as much or more when I'm in Vegas next week. Dee, sorry, but you're out of line. There are two types of eaters.
Ones that eat to live, and ones that live to eat.
I fall in the latter category.
For me, the magic of Disneyland alone would be worth $125/per person.
I haven't been there since '95 (cigarettes were $8/pack back then at DL:eek:).
Dinners such as those are priceless!
Some of my best memories in my meager life were at DL.
Rock on Ron (new nickname?)!Testing

Just so we can follow your example, what exactly have you done to make the world better for future generations? You can limit your answer to future generations of your immediate family if you like.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country! -

Dee,
All due respect but you are out of line. How do you know what Ron does to contribute to the greater good? He may live it everyday of his life and not post about it. He decided to post about a fun night with his family and you turn it into a forum to preach your shortcomings of the world and bash him for taking advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity to pamper his family. Give it a rest already. I am not saying you are doing this (yet), but I cannot stand it when people hold other people to a higher standard than they hold themselves.Shawn

as a former small landscaping comp. owner, it was very frustrating to learn how the business deduction thing works, thousands of dollars have to be spent before you even start actually deducting business expense.
Knowing people in a higher income bracket could meet that with one good business dinner, was irritating, we should not subsidize or tax businesses, they should be neutral entities.
Individuals income should be taxed, if income tax is how you are going to raise funds.
But even as frustrated as i was in my old rickety pickup, driving in posh neighborhoods where the work is, knowing how the system jobs the little guy,
I WOULD NEVER HAVE DREAMED OF TRYING TO MAKE A FAMILY MAN FEEL BADLY FOR TAKING HIS FAMILY TO ENJOY AN OVERPRICED MEAL IN A NICE ENVIRONMENT, if i see posts i dont care for, USUALLY, i just move on, i dont waste my time just complaining off topic.humpty dumpty was pushed -

Friend, you're posting to a forum where people regularly talk about spending this kind of money on a few feet of wire, and you're going to question the economics of a man who splurges a little on a once-in-a-lifetime experience for his family? Sorry you apparently feel that life has treated you poorly, but try to have some perspective.
Anyway... sounds pretty fantastic to me. I've seen people up on that balcony and always wondered what it's like on the inside... thanks to Ron for sharing the pics and story! -
Glad you had a great time Ron. Price was not over the top for a formal dinner at a good restaurant. What did you eat?

I want to know why do people like you insist on attempting to make the people who have worked hard to earn their stature in life feel guilty about getting what their means can afford?
If anyone wants to spring for a nice dinner, good on 'em. I don't care how many people it can feed. If someone can afford it, they are fully within their rights to do so.
Questioning their character or their child rearing abilities with such backhanded comments when all the guy did was share an experience is not a good way to win friends and influence people.
You are within your rights to voice your opinion as well. However, I am fully within my rights to say that not only have you exhibited a severe lack of tact but, your opinion sucks.
You should take your Sally Struthers Telethon-esque preaching, go somewhere else and stop dumping on the guy's good time.
Ron, I hope you and your family had a splendid time! I for one love the experience of fine dining and spring for a nice dinner as often as I can. My parents made sure that I was exposed to a wide variety of culture as I was growing up and that included fine dining. It gave me not only a goal to aspire to of having my own means to be able to have a nice dinner but to also appreciate what goes in to being able to have such an experience.
If you and your family are ever out here in the greater Philly area, let me know and I will be glad to take you to one of the finer establishments here as well.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you! -
The actual dining prices don't seem out of line for what appears to be a nice establishment. Think it's great that you're able to get your foot in the door to share the experience.
Now as to the $15,000 initial/$5000 per year costs; well, if somebody can afford it, fine. But from my end of the stick, Chef Ramsey better come out to personally .... butter my biscuits and they better have Snow White show up in costume to show me how she's 'drifted".
Good for you and your family, Ron.Sal Palooza -

grow up. Its pretty sad that you have to try and push your ideals onto someone that went out with his family to have a good time. Not the place and your rants are pretty annoying and once again practice what you preach. I don't think you should have internet right now as that money could be spent on 3rd world countries.
Ron hope you had a good time. Always good to sit down to a nice meal like that and have a good night out with the ones you care about. Enjoy!
