Over on the Klipsch site people are raving about his work and how it changes the speakers he works on. Now I spoke to a Klipsch tech and said yes if the caps are going then replace them but these speakers were engineered w/ certain specs to begin for a reason. I pesonally still want some FortesII instead of my Infinity SM112s

Take a (heritage) Klipsch speaker; replace the drivers with new, upgraded alternatives, replace the horns, brace the cabinet, replace the crossovers, wiring and binding posts, and add interior damping materials and they're the best speakers ever made. -

You are correct in that building up your vintage Klipsch speakers can give great results. I've completely rebuilt both vintage Polk and Klipsch speakers, and I feel that Klipsch provide the most dramatic improvement with modification.
Speaking of Klipsch upgrades ; I just got two runs of 20 and 15 AWG solid core, PE insulated Jantzen audio cable to rewire my Fortes. I will be using the 20AWG for the tweeter horn, and the 15AWG for the mid horn and doubling up the 15AWG for the woofer. I'm not sure how much of a difference the new Jantzen wiring will make over the original 80's wiring, but at least all the internal components and wiring in those speakers will be Jantzen Audio.
