I belive LFE uses only 1 channel (mono sub out put from the avr) and line in would use 2 rca Left and Right cables. Also when you use LFE the low pass filter is bypassed and you use or let the AVR set the Hz.
You want the LFE to be set at 120hz in the avr. In a 5.1 home theater setup the .1 is the sub (LFE track). When the sound effects are recorded there are certian sounds that are dedicated to the LFE sound track. The LFE has sounds that are up to 125 hz. So if you set it lower then you wont hear them because the low pass filter will block it. Since it is recorded as the .1 LFE track your other speakers will not reproduce the sound since it was dedicated to the LFE track when it was recorded.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

LFE is unfiltered, should bypass the crossover completely because your receiver will be doing the crossover for you.Main Surround -
