Flush mounting problem

I'm trying to flush mount tweeter in the a-pillar for my mm6501. I cut a 2" hole, but no matter what I do I can't get the tweeter to stay in place! It appears to go in all the way, but it invariably slides out over the next few minutes. I've tried 5 layers of masking tape and 3 layers of gorilla tape to tighten the hole, to no avail. On the other hand, I don't know if the hole's too small, but I'm afraid to make it wider, because once I do there's no going back... any advice? And I know it's not being obstructed by anything in the back because I took the a-pillars out and the same thing happens.

Never mind, I just got it to work by removing the spring mechanism and **** it in from the other side.
