W'ell it's 2:09am and I'm up. I have a cup of Black tea and figured I'd surf the net to get me back in bed. W'ell I ended up here.
Tossing and turning kinda sucks.

So does only 5 hours of sleep. That's what I'm sorta used to because I enjoy being up late after my wife and 15mo daughter go to bed but by the time I chk email, this forum, browse a few others, ebay watch list, craigslist, hell it's always after 2 before I get to bed and then 7am comes real quick. By the way I've enjoyed reading some of your comments in the threads and hope you enjoy the work you do. I'm sure it has crap in it like any job but still at least its in an area you obviously enjoy. Good luck going back to sleep.

I went to bed around 10:30 and woke up at 2am so 3 1/2 Hrs sleep so far. I usually get up at 6:30am and leave for work at 7:30am. I'm hoping to get back to bed soon as I don't do well in the morning if I don't sleep well.

Thanks for your comments , I love what I do for a living. I have been in this field for over a Decade. The down side is I'm around gear and hot **** speakers which makes me want something new all the time.

Try having 13 different documented problems with your back and neck. I wish I knew what a good nights sleep is. Sometimes you wish you would never wake up. I feel for those who have served our country suffering from seeing the things they have seen. Sleep depravation is hell on earth.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. I sometimes can't sleep and yes, it sucks big time. Usually when I have too much caffeine. Black tea has alot of caffeine.

    Chamomile is good for sleeping.

.........Or, if you live in California, your Doctor could prescribe some nice hash brownies to help you sleep. No joke. It works and, at least here, its legal, and my system seems to sound better after a brownie too!

    Good luck!

That sucks bro , sorry to hear that. I have my own slight problems with my back as I'm getting older I have been noticing all kinds of small failures. Sucks getting old.
I usually get a pretty good nights sleep , I might wake up here and there but I usually get right back to bed. It's 2:37am and no end in sight.

I nice shot of Whiskey would probably do it for me but It wouldn't stop at one , then I would pay the price even more going to work.

Dude you live in my favorite part of the earth. I few years back , the wife and I stayed out there to see Dancing with the Stars Live. We stayed at the Beverly Wilshire right at the end or beginning of Rodeo Drive. What a hell of a Hotel , the service was the best I have ever had and I have stayed in some damn nice Hotels in my live. They make sure you are well taken care of you.
The weather , the people , the food , everything about LA I really enjoyed. I was only in town for a week but after the 1st day I wanted to move out their. The wife likes it here as her family and friends all live here . It's only a 5 1/2 hr flight. If she would let me , I would live there right now , then I could have a brownie with you LOL.

Yes Sir I was born and raised here, but I've lived all over and will never move again.

My favorite place here is Carlsbad (just north of San Diego). I lived there for about 9 years but had to move back for work.

You can't ever go wrong with the Beverly Wilshire. Very nice place and not far from me. I'm just North of Sunset and just West of Doheny. What can I say? I'm spoiled.

I talk about LA to my wife all the time. I know I could get work out their due to what I do.
Honestly I'm sick and tired of the extreme weather we have here in Phila Pa. This winter alone makes me want to pack up and move west. It Snowed like once a week for months it seemed and it's been cold as hell. last summer it as hot and humid. It seems like out in LA the weather is very stable staying around 60 to 85 and no humidity.

I've had sleeping problems for years now. Recently, I was prescribed ambien for a few months and it stopped working. My sleep schedule is all messed up. I didn't get to sleep til 9am on monday, woke up at 5, then got to sleep at 3 and woke up at 8am. That's kind of how my schedule has been so far this semester.

I generally lay in bed for hours before going to sleep. I was in bed 7 hours before I got to sleep at 9 am... talk about a waste of a day.

I'm so sick of doctors, every one of them makes you go so many visits before prescribing damn medication. They do blood tests and ask stupid questions like "can you think of anything that is keeping you up?"... yeah you tosser, I came here to answer my own questions. I just want some pills... for life!

edit: oh but you can't say you just want the pills to sleep, cause then you're a pill head and they won't do anything... I swear, bout time I steal that prescription pad :P

If that wasn't so sad it would be funny. I told my doctor I couldn't sleep and she prescribed me a nice Indica bud, but I don't smoke so I bought the edibles and it works!

The brownie I ate at 10:00 pm is just kicking in so I'm going to sleep now. I usually crash between 10pm and 2am and always wake anywhere from 8 to 9 am.

    Good night all!

A few years ago I suddenly realized that I'd become very sensitive to caffeine. I can't have any after about 2:00 or 3:00, or I can't get to sleep. Insomnia sucks. Even without caffeine, I still have problems sometimes. Like you said, I also don't function well without enough sleep. Hope you have a good day today and get some good sleep tonight. You might want to try avoiding all caffeine after noon or so.

No suprise. Ever since my neck surgury I've had trouble sleeping, I'll roll over after a couple hours which wakes me up, and I never get back to sleep. I was prescribed Ambien, but warned if I take it more than a couple times a week, it will lose effectiveness. I'll settle for two or three good nights sleep a week, it's better than nothing.

I always wake up before the alarm goes off, 7 days a week. That never used to happen.

I deal with insomnia on and off.

A few things I do my best to abide by. Never drink caffeine 6 hours before you plan on going to bed. Stay off the computer and away from video games for 2 hours before you plan on going to bed. No vitamins or supplements past lunch time.

As for medications, I didn't like Ambien as I felt like crap when I woke up. Also, if people called me shortly after taking a dose, I would have conversations that I don't remember. Nyquil works well for me, but I find it works best if I take a full dose AND wait an hour before lying down.

Also, try more exercise during the day, especially cardio.

I have insomnia on again, off again. Face has it right. No caffeine before bed and stay away from the computer/games before bed.

I use Nyquil myself, but it helps if you know your gonna be awake all night. If you do find yourself awake at say 2am, have a cup of herbal tea (They are Usually Decaffeinated) And try to relax. Don't sit and look at the clock. If you do you will never get back because you will be doing math all night. If I go to sleep now I can get 3.5 hrs of sleep etc....

I don't use Ambien or those other pills as they linger on the next day and I hate that feeling.

That does suck. I love when my wife turns over says goodnight and then like 2 minutes later she is sound asleep. On a good night it takes me an hour or so to fall asleep. That ****!!!

hehehe...my wife likes to watch TV while we go to sleep....if I get lucky enough to fall asleep while its on she gets to remember why my restless leg syndrome is a PITA lol...

although here recently sleep hasnt been happening much. Dr did some vitamin and bloodwork and based on the number of new drugs/supplements I get to take I am just gonna guess that the results sucked butt. That and they want to see me in 3 months rather than 6 lol......

so my wife is gonna go get my ambien script filled finally hehehe...... looking forward to it

My wife and I take a supplement of Spring Valley called Melatonin,10 mg....It's not a narcotic.

It helps you go to sleep, and if you do wake up,you can quickly get back to sleep.
