This has become quite amusing. I've got my money primarily on location, but would also consider poor amplification, or the source. I've never seen a speaker magically boost itself at 200 Hz over a few days. Nor have I ever seen Monitor 70s that "do nothing" at 40 Hz but they shake the walls and doors, which makes me chop this one up to location and lack of experience (no offense meant, as we were all there at one point in our lives)

Hey surfer, I know for a fact that it's the speakers. I ran a 200hz test tone and the speaker that played the 70hz quieter, now plays the 200hz almost twice as loud as the other speaker that was louder in the 70 hz bass. I switched speaker wires to rule out the left/right channels of my amp. I have two same woofers that sound completely different. What's the story here? What should I do? I'm in Montreal,Canada. Where's the service center and would they even fix it cause it's hard to discern when listening to music and the speakers don't distort.
Where did you get the speakers,,, And can you return them???? If i were you, id probally just get something differant, By what your telling me,, it has to be the speakers,, Id return them, At this point thats about all you can do,, sorry about your troubles, as ive had many differant brands, over the years,, and for the money, the polks have never let me down,,, ive got 3 pairs, older rt, rti, models,,one pair, i got in 96,, and they still sound awsome, rt5,s Just return them,, and say there not what you wanted,, jimmy.

Glad you're amused and I am offended. But I deserve it. At $149 i expected too much. I pity those who spent $300 - $400/pair
