Is there a good megachanger (400ish disc) out there that does CDs, SACDs, DVD, DVD-Audio, and Bluray? I suppose I'm kinda looking for a be-all-end-all player.

No Sony doesn't make one that can do all that , if they did I would already own it.

I would love to have this dream mega changer. The Sony Blu ray es model is close but doesn't do any of the older SACD or DVD audio disc's. DVD audio was a competitor of SACD so Sony wouldn't support that format. Sucks maybe Kenwood would have made something like this or Pioneer ELite.

The two sales I've seen of megachangers lately kinda sparked the idea. Is there at least a single-disc unit out there?

You'll never find it with a mega changer.

Sounds like Oppo is a winner then. Especially with an eSATA port on the 95. I love the idea that I can just hook my WD external up to the unit. It's a shame noisy makes a multi disc unit...

Why would you want to get a mega changer that reads all? Are you too lazy to get up to load and unload discs one at a time?

It's the fun of this hobby to get up and do things before you listen to music.

You are missing out all the fun if you let the others and mega changer do it for you.

And there is no be-all and end all anything in this world. Everything changes.

Pardon my iPhone's AutoIncorrect feature. I meant to say it's a shame nobody makes a multi disc unit.

I am buying the Oppo BD-95 for my two-channel system just to be able to play high resolution music files that are, and will be, released on BR discs.

Is there ripping software for SACD and DVD AUDIO as well as Blu ray , dvd , cd that's legal?

Then how are you going to replay all these formats ? Your machine would have to have HDMI out maybe pass 1.4 spec.

It's a dream but is something that could easily done and should have already .

Although multi-changers are generally a little noisy when changing discs, I can tell you that the new Sony CX7000ES is the exception. I have 3 Sony CX455 cd players, 1 Sony CX300, 1 Sony DVP CX777ES and a Pioneer PD F1007. The 7000ES is amazingly quiet for a 400 disc player. It plays BluRay, DVD, and CD only. I've got 3 of them...1 to keep and 2 to sell (in case you're interested).

I like hitting "shuffle" "all discs" and just sit back and listen. I always discover stuff in my collection that I never heard.

Denon had a changer that you could daisy chain additional changers. The DCM-5000 was the controller and the DCM-5001 was that add-on changers. You could chain up to 5 of them for a total of 600 CDs. I don't think they were SACD but they did do HDCD. They were intended for studio use. I saw one on CL a few weeks ago and was tempted.

Dual CD Drivers, Slide-out, non-removable linear CD tray. CD Text.
HDCD decoding via pacific Microsonics PMD-100 filter/decoder
42 bit Burr-Brown premium DACs (Audio output 1)
20 bit digital filter, 18 bit Burr-Brown premium DACs (Audio output 2-second zone)
Disc maning functions, via front panel controls or via esternal PC keyboard imput, or via remote controle
    8 music groups
    40 step programming X4 functions = 160 steo caoacutt
2 sets analog outputs (main/second zones)
    2 sets digital outputs (coaxial)
Up to 5 DCM-5001 aux drivers can be connected to DCM-5000 control
    Remote Control supplied
    RS-232/422 serial port
Composit video output for on-screen display

I'm done with SACD. DVD audio was never strong. The disks cost too much. There are a lot of HiRez down loadable audio titles starting to come out. The price of Hard Drives is coming down real fast. Being able to have your whole collection on a small device is very appealing.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
