I am wondering if I need to either return my new center channel speaker or not. I have had it hooked up for less than a month in my new HT room. All was great when first hooked up. Have been watching movies and cable at comfortable volume levels and hardly had the volume turned up. Now, I have an old and probably low powered Kenwood receiver (just order an Onkyo 808).

The other day I was watching cable and as I changed channels, the center channel made some sharp ugly sounds. Since then, i have noticed that I need to turn up the volume on the receiver to hear dialogue more clearly. Further proof I think something is wrong has to deal with the sound from a
PS3 video game( Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit). In this game, during car races, music could be heard from the center speaker along with the surround sound of car effects and other sounds from all speakers. When I play now, the in game music volume is very low. The setting in game show 100%. If i turn up the volume on the receiover, the music gets louder but the other sounds become overbearing.

Could there be something wrong with the speaker?? All other sounds that originate from the speaker, minus music/dialogue, are bold and great. I spent $450 on this one speaker so really want to make sure it is not defective. Any help would be great to try and troubleshoot the problem!!
