Problem with Surroundbar 360

A problem has recently developed with my Surroundbar 360. Two things are occurring:

1) The unit is having problems reading DVDs. I often get "Disk Error" messages. Also, DVDs will lock up in the middle of a movie. When this happens, the unit often becomes unresponsive to any commands, requiring the unit to be re-started. Oddly, cleaning DVDs with lens cleaner prior to use has lessened the problem. Unfortunately, it is every DVD that must be cleaned... movies we own, movies we rent, if the DVD isn't cleaned it will be unwatchable (I've tested this theory several times and it has always proved true).

2) Every now and then, the volume goes out. The only way to get back is to re-start the system. Initially, the display would recurringly fade and then get brighter, which was always a precursor to losing the sound. I thought I might not have a good power connection, so I unplugged and re-plugged the power cord into the back of the unit. I haven't noticed the fading lately, but do lose sound every now and then. The sound loss seems to happen less frequently since I unplugged/re-plugged, but could just be coincidental.

Is there any troubleshooting I can do or do I just have to mail the unit in?
