RTi70 tweeter issue. No sound from either

Ok, so I just picked up a set of RTi70's for next to nothing. Not the youngest line, but I paid $100 for the pair. I had them on a Yamaha receiver for a few weeks that was in need of replacement (90lb greyhound pissed all over it). So I picked up a new Denon and hooked them up as part of a 3.1 system.

I noticed rather quickly there were no highs coming from the 70's. So I took them both apart and inspected. All the wiring seems ok. No discoloration or damage visually to the crossovers. But nothing from either tweeters. I hooked up some small 2-ways to the Denon to check and verify that the receiver is sending high signals. That checked out.

So, how do I test to see if the jumpers are working alright for the tweeters, the crossovers, or do I need to replace both tweeters? If I drop $140 on replacement tweeters I'll still be up a pair of killer tower speakers.

Unhook the jumpers and hook up the receiver just to the top posts and see. If they work then your issue is with the jumpers.

If they don't work then you have a problem with your crossovers or tweeters. You can pull the tweeters out and hook them up directly to your receiver turned VERY LOW and see if anything comes out. If they work then it's your crossover, if they don't work more than likely you need new tweeters.

Jumpers are easy to replace, just make some out of wire and bananas or spades.

Pulled the front assembly off the tower and hooked up the input line directly to the leads for the tweeter. Nothing. I tried taking the jumper off last night and just using the top input and bottom with no results.

After hooking the line right up to the leads for the tweeter, and not getting anything, I'm aiming that both tweeters need to be replaced?

Yes, you can. Call them after 9 in the morning tomorrow and they will provide the juice for you. Call, don't e-mail.
