Okay from the remote in the receiver mode:

    setup>1>1>
normal (no I'm not running bi-amp)

    setup>1>2>
    sub: yes
    front/center/surround: 80Hz
    LFE: 90hz

    setup>1>3>
    left/right: 15'
    center: 14'
    surround: 10'
    sub: 13'

    setup>1>4>
    left/right: +1dB
    center: +2dB
    surround: +6dB
sub: -12dB (volume on sub is at 1 o'clock)

    setup>1>5>
    EQ=Audyssey

    setup>4>1>
    Dynamic EQ: on
    ref volume: 0dB

    home>audio>
    bass: +6dB
    treble: +8db
sub: -12dB (this level adjust will change "setup>1>4>" setting)
    center: +2bB (same as above)

I know you won't use my exact settings, but I thought it would help...

    Good Luck!

Thanks, Brian. I messed around with a few more settings and got it to where I could hear sounds at about 27, still have to get it to about 30 or so before you can really feel anything. I will continue playing around with it until I tweak it to my ears.

This system is replacing and older Sony receiver, a couple of left over Bose and a couple others I picked up over the years. Both receivers are 7.1 systems and both are 100W x 7, although I have only had 5 speakers hooked up for a while. Once the sub from the Bose went out I never replaced it, had other things at the time that were more important. With the Sony once the volume was about 20 the wife was telling me to turn it down, although when she was gone I would crank it to about 35 or so and you could hear it outside pretty good. Now this is a better receiver and I thought once I had it hooked up it would be about the same, I was/am in for a rude awakening so far. Will hopefully get this thing figured out soon.
    H/T Set-up

    Sony Bravia 55" LCD
    Onkyo TX-SR608
    Polk Audio Monitor 60's (fronts)
    Polk Audio Monitor 40's (surrounds)
    Polk Audio CS2 (center)
    Polk Audio PSW505 (subwoofer)

    Zone 2
    Polk Audio Atrium 25
    (perfect speakers by the pool)

That is what I am seeing as well, Just not used to having to turn it that loud. Funny how from 0-25 I hear nothing, NOTHING at all. Seems strange but after looking at several peoples set-up of the 608 I am right on cue.
