Fair enoug, I misunderstood your point then. I guess the fact that you chose to quote his post when several others had mentioned it previously is what threw me.

By the way, I do agree with the point in general, I don't believe in the 'we beat ourselves' crap, you either beat the other team or get beaten by the other team, period.

There's a big difference between talking trash between rival teams and not knowing what the hell you're talking about when it comes to the game of football. I talk trash about Bears and Vikings fans/players all the time. I also comment on the games themselves and analyze the plays on the field honestly, regardless of team.

I think Bill Bellichick is a giant douchebag, but I respect that he's the best coach in the NFL. I think Brett Favre is a giant douchebag, but I respect that he took that Viking team to the NFC Championship game in 2009.

On the game, nooshinjohn doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, or he's feigning ignorance intentionally. I could care less, he's coming off like a clown.

Anyone with a brain in their skull that analyzes that game will come to the conclusion that Green Bay outplayed the Steelers in all aspects of the game, and if anything, let all of the dropped passes keep the Steelers in a game they were NEVER in from the missed opportunity on the muffed kickoff.

How could you not expect it, they were favored right? I believe they were also the favored team coming into the season along with the Cowgirls down here in Big D. I'm just curious, I've heard several people say how big of a surprise it was and all, and best I can remember they were favored coming into the season and the game.

I guess you assume I was talking about the game. I was talking about the season ending in a Super Bowl win when they had players like Ryan Grant, Jermichael Finley, Nick Barnett, Morgan Burnett, Brad Jones and Mark Tasucher on Injured Reserve. The Packers' key talent was sidelined, but they also proved they had remarkable depth that nobody, including Packers fans, knew they had.

The lack of run game would have stifled their chances of even advancing one game in playoffs, but a complete nobody, James Starks who was active for only 3 games during the regular season with 29 touches, steps up and makes a big enough impact for them to open up the pass game more and advance through the playoffs.

They will enter the 2011 season (yes, there will be a season) as the lock to win it all next year with all of that talent coming back at full strength. Will they do it? I have no idea, it depends on how they handle their individual egos and respect every team they play. That, and the league is more competitive than ever.

    Surprised? You betcha.

Agreed, and I never mentioned my team. This is about the Superbowl and my team was not worthy of serving cold beer at Texas Stadium this year. I don't think either team played particularily well to be honest with you.

    Agreed on all counts.

It was simply my opinion and in no way an analysis of the game. Both teams missed huge opportunities, but it was turnovers that made the difference here as the Pack scored 21 of their 31 points off of them. It is for this reason I said the Steelers beat themselves. Poor descisionmaking by Big Ben and loose ball handling in the running game is not caused by a defense. The Packers capitalized on the errors made, and more power to them for that. Take away those mistakes and we have a very different football game. But that is not the way the game works and the better team won.

The stats of the game speak differently as Pittsburgh's time of possession, total yards and several other stats bear out. They won on the scoreboard and turnover differential that is where it counts. Now crack open that Leinenkugel and enjoy the win! Green Bay deserves it.

A lot of the time, when two really good teams play each other, it appears both teams dont play particularly well.

Poor descisionmaking by Big Ben and loose ball handling in the running game is not caused by a defense.

It wasnt poor decision making by Ben. He got hit while throwing...it happens. His other interception was simply an excellent defense reading the QB. Both the receiver and the defender had their hands on the ball...the defender ripped it out.

The fumble caused by loose ball handling? No. He had a firm grasp on the ball. It was tucked in under his arm and he had a good grasp on it with his hand. Text book ball carrying. What happened was getting a 300lb lineman on one side putting his helmet on the ball, and another 250 lb linebacker hitting your ball carrying arm. When you have that much physics going on, sometimes you get a loose ball.

Also, every time I see Ben Roethlesberger that skit from SNL immediately comes to mind for some reason...

That whole skit is funny as hell

How about the guy on Arrested Development that combined the words analyst & therapist to create- "analrapist"

I felt through most of the game the steelers still had a chance even when they were down 21-3, but when Mendenhall fumbled the ball, I knew they lost and didn't celebrate for the rest of the game. The Packers were definitely the better team last night, but if it wasn't for Roethlisberger freezing up at the end of the game (he overthrew three times in a row), the steelers "could" have won.

Either way, At least we know what a super bowl is like, unlike Cleveland:tongue:

Agreed... the Packers didn't beat the Steelers as much as the Steelers beat themselves.
Congrats to them just the same, and enjoy it while you can. As Russman so eloquenly pointed out, we are all undefeated now. I doubt the Pack's lucky streak will continue next year.

Lucky to have lost 16 players and 7 starters including the whole starting linebacker group? Lucky to have played all our playoff games on the road?

It amazes me how people like this see what happens on a football field as luck? Sure, when the ball bounces a certain way that is luck. Sometimes when players get hurt it is bad luck. But talent, preperation and performance accounts for most of what happens on the field. If you want to get a idea of what is really happening on the field watch the replay of the game with sound bites on the NFL network. Watch how the offenses and defenses read each other. On that fumble you will see that Clay Matthews read the offense and knew the exact play that was coming . He was yelling to Picket to spill the pocket on that side so he could attack from the other side. He saw it coming and smarts and physics made the fumble. You will see how Rodgers was reading the defense perfectly but his receivers were dropping the balls. Call it luck all you want but a team that haves this many injuries and haves to win all there playoff games on the road and then wins the championship does not get there by luck
