LSi25 vs RTiA9

I've found that the LSi 15's low end does not transition well with the other frequencies. The LSi 9's with a sub sound better.Political Correctness'.........defined

For 2-channel I prefer 15's, but for HT I prefer 9's with a sub.
If I heard the 9's with a nice musical sub my opinion might change.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Personally i like the idea of towers because they hide the wiring mess from both sides of the rack and just look better in general. But of course this is not an acoustic reason, lol!Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:

Can u expand on that a little bit? Why is it u prefer lsi15s for 2ch music over lsi9s w a sub?
I really do want to get a better understanding...Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:

Have you ever tried the 7's as fronts? Just curious.
Yes and I loved them. I could easily go back to 7's for the mains in my HT. To me the 9's offer a little more...openness maybe? Not sure how to explain it, but they are not significantly better than the 7's IMO. I know some people even prefer the 7's over the 9's.Lietuvis91 wrote: »Can u expand on that a little bit? I wasn't exactly clear in my answer.
What I mean is that for two-channel I prefer 15's because I don't need a separate sub. (There's another one you can add to your non-acoustic reasons list) As I said, if I heard the 9's with a good sub my opinion could change, but I think the 15's are a great 2-channel speaker.
For HT I prefer 9's with a sub because the low frequency advantage gained with the 15's over the 9's is lost because it's being crossed over to the sub anyway.
Hope that makes a little more sense. If not, let me know and I'll try to do a better job of explaining.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
I think I follow the logic, appreciate it! My quest was actually to find a speaker which would not need a sub for 2 ch listening as I really don't want any more clutter in my room. So, from what you all have said, I.m leaning towards the lsi15 route first...Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:

If thats your quest, then don't limit yourself to just the lsi 15's. Plenty of floorstanders with ample low end from Legacy,VMPS, ZU-audio, Tyler, Def tech, and the list goes on. Go make some rounds and get an ear on different speakers before making a decision.HT SYSTEM-

I guess i should get to know some of the sound shops around here and become familiar with what they carry. There arent many so its not going to take long...Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:
