Protect mode HK AVR 85

My Harmon Kardon AVR 85 is going into protect mode even at very low volume.

Sometimes it will work for 10 min or so but then starts jumping in and out of PM. At first I thought I must have a short in the speaker wire but that is not the case.

Is there anything I should check before giving up on this otherwise nice (if a bit old) AVR?

    That wont make a differance,, as heat evaporates dust, Unless it sat,, unplayed, for a year,
    Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.

    Dust is a solid material, it cannot "evaporate". It's not water.

    Check all your connections and yeah, blow it out.

    And to think I've been waiting for a month now for it to dissappear in my house.

    With that news I'm going to run around the house with my hair dryer and see if it helps.
