Why was the tri-lam, replaced
Curiouse, folks to this day love the tri-lam tweeters, why did polk stop useing them,????
Not an Audiophile, just a dude who loves music, and decent gear to hear it with.

I'm gonna assume that it was replaced with a much smoother sounding more natural Tweeter, that is my opinion from listening to older Rt series to new Rt series speakers.Dan

I've heard both, and except for the vifa tweeter, I don't think any Polk tweeter does justice to the midrange. I've heard other speakers that have parts priced (probably) in the Polk kit range, that are silk domes I believe, that sound more natural or less edgey. It's my gripe with the brand. I dont' think the trilams are bad or the current RTi silk domes, just that I've heard better from GR Research (maybe it's the crossover) and they cost less than $50.00 to the consumer.
