OK, not my area of expertise. My son is wanting a headset for his birthday. He has a PS3 and will use it mostly to play COD. Any suggestions? I would like to stay around $50 - $100.
Thanks, as always, I appreciate your help.

I bought my step son this one for his 360 (although the link is for the PS3 model). He went on for weeks about how awesome it was. Guessing you can get a better price if you look. Turtle Beach makes good headsets- they also have a couple of others that are a bit cheaper.

if all ehs doing is gaming:
stereo: Razer Carcharias
Dolby 5.1: tritton AX 720
If hes into music I'd suggest some Beyerdynamics because they have great musicality and clarity but enough bass for movies and games. Plus you could always add a JVC SU-DH1 for the 5.1 surround in the future. way cool.design is where science and art break even. -
I second the Tritton AX-720's. They are phenomenal for the price ($130).
If your son is of age where he can appreciate a good set of cans, I would absolutely spend the extra $30 to buy these. They are especially useful for a game like COD where he'd be able to pinpoint footsteps and gun shots.
Everyone I've steered towards these has been amazed. -
If you want to save some money XBox has a new one. I personally picked one up and it works great. Just make sure to get the black one- the old ones were grey and they suck.

I've found these to be the absolute BEST headphones for the price (consider the price point):
$11--can't beat it!

Here's a more expensive pair for $45--not sure what the difference is, if any:

Couple of different factors to take into account. If all he wants the headset for is to communicate with others on ps3. The turtle beach headset through gamestop is fantastic.

If he wants something to listen to ALL sounds out of the ps3 (communication, sound effects, music, etc) turtle beach again, but different abilities.

This set requires you to be no greater than the length of the cord away from the ps3.
There are also a few offerings of Turtle Beach headsets that are like the one above but are wireless. Those typically are around 150-170 though. And im having a hard time finding a good link at the moment.
Turtle beach has proved itself time and time again when it comes to headsets for consoles. Razer is good as well but I prefer to keep them on my PC systems. -

hanks to Sennheiser's expertise as a global leader in electro-acoustic, PC 350's sound perception is so precise, that you will literally feel like you're in the game. -
What about Skull Candy? They make pretty good head phones. This one is made for the PS3 and has voice comunication.
