In the 3 months that I did Crossfit initially, I ended up losing 60lbs! Since I started back up again, I've lost another 20. At this rate, I should be near my goal (around 220) by the end of the year!
I really recommend Crossfit to anyone and everyone. Doesn't matter your age or physical ability, they can tailor a workout to work for anyone.

I have been exercising for a long time. I find that I never really stick to one kind of workout for more than a year at most. I get bored. However, I am always doing something. I was three sports in high school and played soccer in college. I also played in mens leagues for 25yrs after college. I have always been a runner but not really long distance. I am a 2nd degree black belt (havent trained in a couple of years though), I did P90x, I lift weights, etc. I am now training to run a marathon. I did a 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago. The point I am trying to make is that fitness is a lifestyle. There is no magic training regimen. The important thing is to just do it. Find something you like to do and do it until you get tired of it. Then find something else. Eat sensibly. Enjoy life!!!I got static in my head

Nice job Ryan! I'm not one thats big on comparing success by what the scale says, but thats a lot of effing weight!
For me, i'm big into changing ones body composition and measuring how clothing fits and your overall look in the mirror. For someone that obviously has a MAJOR imbalance in body composition (large amount of bodyfat VS muscle mass), the scale obviously does say a lot.
In my case, I started out roughly around 250lbs at 6'2". Been going at it with strength training (no cardio at all) and diet (with supplements) with only recently mixing in biking. 2 months later and my clothing is fitting significantly much more loose in every aspect. Looks wise, there's a definite change towards more muscle definition and size with the waist line shrinking significantly. I weighed myself for the sake of argument the other night...i only lost roughly 1 lb total in that 2 month period. Granted, you can fluctuate 3-4 lbs a day, but still, I normally train in the evening and would weigh myself in the evening after eating meals all day.
Keep it up though! Thats a lot of weight to drop, so you should feel a world of difference in every aspect of your life.No excuses! -
I hear what you're saying Strong Bad, and I agree. I don't judge my results based strictly on my weight, because that isn't a great indicator.
Before I started Crossfit, I couldn't look down and see my feet. Now, keep in mind that I wear size 15 shoes...not easy to miss. I also couldn't do a single pushup or even walk fast without almost passing out.
Now I can do several real pushups in a row, I jog every morning (2 miles in 26 or so minutes), and I can see my feet!
I also have some definition in my arms finally.
