power cable upgrade

I've just gone down the path of upgrading my power cables in my system (added a pangea ac9 for my parasound hca 1500 amp, and a pangea ac14 for my oppo dv981 which I'm using as the preamp). Definitely am a believer in the improvement from the cords. I just picked up a signal cable magic power cord.

At the moment, I have two possible places to try the cord. From my wall outlet to the rotel power conditioner (to which the parasound is hooked up) or to my subwoofer to replace a decent 14awg power cord that I replaced the stock with). Any suggestions on which would be a better place. My gut says the rotel. Just wanted to hear some feedback. Thanks.

I say the Rotel power conditioner. I just added a PS Audio xStream Plus 8 gauge power cable for my conditioner in my 2-channel system. Seems like a great place to start.

Maybe do a test on each to see if you can tell which spot is better in your rig.

thinking thru this a bit more, I guess the rotel shd be doing some amount of power/noise cleanup which normally would be the burden of the cord, so I am now thinking maybe a a better bang for the buck would be on the lines of Tonyb's suggestion of trying it on the sub since that is going to the wall outlet via a surge strip (no noise cleanup there).

Thanks for the suggestion. not much money left over right now but I've read many good things about MIT,shunyata and also signal/pangea on the budget front. For now, I am just starting to find my way about in the cable upgrade area and from what I hear, signal and pangea are decent entry level cords. certainly will consider the MITs as I slowly move up the chain. Still have to save money for a basement finishing so that I can move the whole 5.1 rig out to a dedicated room.

If you ever get the chance pick up some MIT power cords. I have 3 and I love them. The best I've tried so far.

something like this, but this one is too high, you can get them used for around $85 each

so where would you put the MIT cord if you only had one as per my original post?
