Hey there, I bought 2 Brand new Polk Audio PSW505 and worked amazing. 2 Sounds insane btw. One stopped making sounds, power came on lights etc. But no sound, and sometimes the sound would come out in bursts i guess. So i took it in on warranty and they fixed it. But now my other one is doing the same thing accept I only bought warranty for one...

I tried hooking it up to my car with one of those dc adapters 75w that you plug into the lighter place. And when I was doing that my friend thought it would be funny to bloast his ipod through the sub while we were testing it. And now it dont make anymore sound.

Advice and Comments please, would really like to fix this issue without having to take it in again. But if its blown that aint happenin I guess.

Now why would you think it is a good idea to run a 300W AC sub amplifier off of a 75W DC Inverter? Hmmmm

Wanted to ask the same thing myself when I first read this post....so I'm curious to know as well. Why did you hook that sub up in your car to begin with? You've got multiple outlets in your home....don't you?

As far as advice, well....keep the sub (that doesn't work) for parts IE cabinet+driver+grill.

I'm guessing the plate amp is messed up, so unless you buy a replacement or look over the amp yourself to replace anything you might've fried (highly doubt that), there's not much you can do. You could contact Polk and ask about getting it serviced, but I doubt it's worth it considering you'll have to pay shipping plus whatever it costs to fix it. If the amp in fact works and it's the driver that doesn't, well you've still got extra-something for your working sub.

Buy a new one when it's on sale on Newegg or something. Otherwise, just enjoy the one you've got now.

Yeppers, funny as can be,also sad too. Bottom line is the OP in no way is going to get warranty work done on the sub. Sorry to say, the OP just ate one big time.
